Thanks Mike D. I appreciate that.

I want the Fantasy V season to go at a good pace with some good suspense and storylines. Makes it more fun.  I have nothing else to do really besides work out or work on my swing when I don't have the kids.
My season starts in 2 weeks, but the minimum of 2 slate of games a week will continue. Just no RBI games on the weekends when I play for real. The only thing that takes time is doing the boxscores...at least 45 minutes a game after everything is counted up.

I'm looking forward to watching the Badasses travel to Tom Brady Park and play the Sally Cunts. Nando is back on the bump as a starter and the Hispanic community from Boston will be making another trip to root for El Toro.

Unholy Legions-Chocolate Rain will be interesting as well. Reushl and Sutton have been off to a great start. 14 IP, 21 H, 7 ER. Those are great numbers for RBI Fantasy pitching. Any time the hits are less than a 2-1 ratio to innings pitched, it's a good thing. And 7 ER in 14 innings is remarkable. But it's early.

I'll run the games later today. And again, when I do it, I run all the games in package form...one right after the other. Makes it more fun for me too.

You guys need to hit more. That's the big problem. You guys only have 26 hits in two games..and Candy is 1-8 so far as is Whitkr ...their killin ya in the  middle of the lineup.

Talk to your hitting instructor.

Also, this Pedriq mystique is gonna die. Cox and Morris have impeccable scouting reports on him. The Empire has the best scouts and coaches out there. We're gonna pitch to the Blue Ribbons weak spots.

PS, I was thinking about this when I was looking through some old seasons...

Would it be possible to put managers next to teams in either the standings or matchups?

I'm wondering who this fellow is who is running the so called "Galactic Empire"

PPS Awesome pace so far Darky, it's awesome! Thanks a lot!

Thanks Alec.

What do you exactly mean with putting managers next to teams in either the standing or matcups? You mean in the ROM?

Stats, standings, player/pitcher of the week ,and rankings will come in a separate thread. Prolly this weekend.

Empire's pitching staff=tough

I mean in the opening post. So like Awesome Badasses (Alec) @ Sally Cunts (Mike D) or something.

Also, is there any way to get the emulator to run so that I don't have to keep that as my active window for it to keep going? I like to watch while doing work but I can't type when I have it going.

i think you can use the tab key to speed up.

also there's a setting to keep your window running when it's hidden, but i'm not sure what that setting is.

I knew about the tab key. that "keep window running" when hidden sounds like what I was looking for though. I'll have to see if I can find it.

Yeah, I can do that for now on...naming the managers, but I can see Nacho bitching about it eventually.

And no, you can't run the emulator and type something where ever or jump around the net. I know, it sucks. But I just saw TBG's post, so I too will look into this setting.

Some quickies this week eh? Mike D must be furious with Nacho...

Jesus.  Watching these past two games is one of the most frustrating things ever.  Why do our infielders run away from the ball?  Seriously, worst fielding team ever.

You guys had a good come back, but came up short. I was shittin when you guys were down by one with 1 out in the 9th. Then Gedman and Gagne  made consecutive outs to end the game. Canseco hit some mammoth shots. I think you got burned on a couple of first to third baserunner outs. Those things are a killer.

Witt pitched good and so did Cox. Orosco and Moore pitched well in the 8th retiring the side.

Trammel is a machine in the lead off spot. He's 14/16 so far. Murphy left a lot of ducks on the pond. We left 11 on base.

Pedriq had trouble with the cut fastball. We pitched him inside all  day...he's got slow hands. Our scouts do a great job...lol

I'm liking Tudor. Boy has been clutch... so far.

Where the FUCK has this offense come from though? Save some for later in the season!

You guys scored 14 runs with 2 outs against the Sally Cunts! Unfuckinbelievable. Puckett is having a big year so far...that fucker will let you down eventually. Well, he did in the WS last season for me.
McGwire is hitting everything into space. You guys seem to have those big innings. Impressive...but the Empire pitching staff knows how to pitch to you guys. :)

So far, nobody has scored more than 10 runs off my two starters...and bullpen. Orosco has not given up any runs and I think one hit in two ip. Pitching wins in this league. I don't care what the old timers say.

The Rebel Alliance is looking real bad so far. I don't get the Artichokes bottom of the lineup? Their fuckin raking.

Title: Re: Fantasy RBI Week 3
Post by: AlecTrevylan006 on 04/16/09, 03:43:17 PM
It doesn't hurt that Tudor is batting .400 or so. In the second inning, two quick outs, up comes Tudor, infield single to keep the inning alive. 8 runs and 0 outs later, he comes up again and gets ANOTHER infield single (this one for an RBI, giving the mercy-lead) to keep the inning alive AGAIN. Talk about helping your own cause. Clutch hitting, clutch pitching.

...that just made me realize... 14 runs in that inning with two outs. I had 15 consecutive batters reach without recording a final out. Fernando was looking good til then, but then he got shelled.

And as I finally look at the schedule...

I face the OC 3 times in 4 weeks, that could be make or break. I play a pair back to back with the blue ribbons....

And Darky, I will bet a testicle that you have given up more than 10 runs at least twice, nay, THREE times by the end of my first game with you. Take it or leave it right now.
Title: Re: Fantasy RBI Week 3
Post by: Darky on 04/16/09, 03:54:17 PM
Yeah, Tudor was clutch at the plate. I hate when opposing pitchers get a hit, certainly creates an impact in the game. I lucked out against Ryno's team...no hits from his pitchers.

About Nando, I wonder if he's running his poles? I bet he lightly jogs them and cheats out of doing how many he's supposed to do. The dude runs out of gas after he pitches a couple of good innings. It's all them damn screwballs he throws lol.

The Gantry league has one team over .500 so far. Remember, top three in each league go to the playoffs.
Doverbi league is a tough one.

I'm sure it will happen, but not over 15-17 runs...and we'll still win. In all the sim games I run, we pretty much keep the score low for Fantasy standards.

I got a huge showdown with the Chocolate Rain. We're both undefeated and it's for first place.

You guys should dismantle the Rebel Alliance pretty fast. The OC series will be huge. TBG is two time champions and his teams are usually pretty tough.

I wonder if anything will happen during the trade weeks? Weeks 8-12 it is. Last year there were some major trades that took place. Reggie Jackson got traded twice! lol

I think he fucked with the fielding settings too.  I'm telling you, there were no less than 7 direct hits to the 3B that just miraculously zipped by him.

There are so many instances of shenanigans with darkside it's not even funny.

I think we need to keep his balls in a vice.  He'll cheat every chance we allow.

HAAAAAA! You bitter sallys.

Ryno, we killed Pedriq! Your little firecracker's fuse was a dud.

I actually tried to get the PBR's to win. I ran about 20 games in a row, and they could not take down the Empire once! HAAAAAAAAA

Anyways, I'm gonna start working on the recaps and the stats. My kids are here, and my son is really interested in this league. Look for week 4 to begin on Sunday, but it could happen on Saturday. Depends how fast I get the stats together.

Awesome Badasses erupt for 14 runs with two outs

BOSTON (AP) – With two outs in the top of the second inning, the Awesome Badasses erupted for 15 straight hits and 14 runs off El Toro as they quickly mercy ruled the Sally Cunts 16-0 at Bill Belichick Stadium.

Mark McGwire hit his 5th homerun of the season, tying him with Mike Schmidt for most in the league. John Tudor gave up no hit and no runs in two innings of work.
The blowout puts the Awesome Badasses in first place with a 3-0 reocord. The Sally Cunts drop to 1-2 and in a 3 way tie for second place in the Gantry League.

Sally Cunt owner Mike D said, "Jesus. Watching these past two games is one of the most frustrating things ever.  Why do our infielders run away from the ball?  Seriously, worst fielding team ever."

Fighting Artichokes quickly dismantle Rebel Alliance

MADISON (AP) Charlie Lisk, a season ticket holder, decided to quickly buy some burgers during the top half of the first inning. By the time he came back about 5 minutes later, his home town team Rebel Alliance were down 11-0 in the first inning.

Roger Clemens gave up 10 straight hits before recording an out to the Fighting Artichokes. "My stuff was off" said the Rocket.

Tom Burnansky had 5 RBI's and a homerun with a beautiful arc over the center field wall.

The Fighting Artichokes (2-1) move into second place in the DoveRBI League while the Rebel Alliance fall to 0-3 and into last place in the DoveRBI league.

Reggie Jackson leads the OC to first victory

SAN LUIS OBISPO (AP) – Reggie Jackson hit two homeruns with 5 RBI's and the OC of the Central Coast (1-2) got some quality pitching as TBG's team captures their first win over the Fighting Cutlers.

The Fighting Cutlers (0-3) squandered numerous opportunities at the plate as they left 11 men on base and were .100 with runners in scoring position.  Much of the credit should be attributed to Key and Sutclf. Key picked up the win and Sutclf pitched the last five innings as they both pitched out of some tough jams.

A jubilant sell out crowd of 58,000 at Central Coast Park erupted in cheers after Reggie hit his second blast of the day which skyrocketed out of the park and in to the beautiful Pacific ocean.

Ultimate 7, owner/GM of the Fighting Cutlers, was not available for comment after guaranteeing victory "The Cutlers will get their first win this week, book it".

Chocolate Rain storms through Unholy Legions

DEE NEE (AP) – Tony Armas and Tom Brookens each hit a pair of homeruns to lead the Chocolate Rain (3-0) 12-2 over the Unholy Legions in a six inning mercy rule game.

Blyvn pitched six strong innings and gave up one earned run and scattered 8 hits as he dominated a potent Unholy Legions line-up.
Sutton got rocked in the 3rd and 4th inning by giving up 8 runs in those two innings. The Unholy Legions of Doom (1-2) were unable to recover as they really never threatened the Chocolate Rain at any point after the first inning.

The Chocolate Rain (3-0) move into a first place tie with the Galactic Empire. Both teams will square off in a first place DoveRBI league battle in week 4.

Galactic Empire hold on for narrow victory

ARKANSAS (AP) - The Empire held off a last inning Pabst Blue Ribbons comeback in the ninth to move to 3-0 and in a two way tie for first place with the Chocolate Rain in the DoveRBI league.

After jumping out to a 10-3 lead with Danny Cox cruising the whole way, the Pabst Blue Ribbons (1-2) woke up in the seventh and reduced the Empire lead to 10-7. After a scoreless 8th, the Empire scored a crucial run that would turn out to be the difference in front of 82,000 wild spectators at Razorback Stadium.

Alan Trammel (5/6, 2B (2) 4 R) hit a solo homerun in the top of the 9th to give the Empire a 11-7 lead going into the bottom of the 9th.
Calvin Schiraldi came in the ninth to slam the door, but after giving up 3 consecutive homeruns to Gibson, Canseco, and DwEvans with one out, the momentum shifted.
After a trip to the mound by manager Darky, Shiraldi then got Gedman and Gagne out to earn the save.

" Our main goal today was obviously to win every inning and eventually the game, but we had to blank Pedriq...and we did. The standards and expectations are extremetly high here in our program, and we expect to win every time we step on the diamond. One pitch at a time, one out at a time, one inning at a time, and one game at a time. That's our philosophy. We play and focus in the now as to control the Force in our favor" said Darky in a very matter of fact fashion.
