Key and Tudor are first tier SP's.

With all the fantasy games and practice games I've seen, it seems that the top tier would be as follows in no particular order:

Key
Tudor
Gooden
Cox
Morris

The relievers is still up for debate.

Seriously...

You have an offensive juggernaut there ultimate. Pitching, not so much. We got you in week 10, should be interesting to see how the best pitching staff will handle the number team in average, number two in runs scored, and number three in HR's through week 8.

The Cutlers are 5-1 since starting out 0-3. Lot of season left...I wonder if Attez or anyone else will say that I manipulated that? lol...maybe I should start making the Empire lose more often so it looks like I am running a clean league.

Boxscores and recaps will come tomorrow.

The last 2 games the pitching was solid until Hurst was just in way too long and he was exhausted, it's why it's so important to 10 run when you have the lead because eventually that pitcher is gonna give up some runs.
Title: Re: FRBI week 9
Post by: Darky on 04/26/09, 04:17:00 PM
True...but your pitching is not top tier pitching...energy or no energy.

My team has problems when the pitchers is tired. We have high contact ratings across the board, but not too much power. The teams with good power will eventually unleash on a tired pitcher. Their fly balls are jacks.

You guys could have at least beat the Artichokes since they are in my division...and Attez's creation.

Dude, your team had all the breaks go against you. Sac double plays, line out double plays, and other shit. I think your team is jinxed or something. Happens when your not around for the whole draft. Kinda sucks on your end that you were gone that week during the draft.

HAAAAAAAAA!

You guys had your chances in the first four innings to pull away, but Cox hit his spots. Good comeback on the Sally Cunts part...then the Empire unleashed on your bullpen.

Orosco shutting you guys down is making me look like a genius in taking him so early in the draft.

To be honest, I was expecting a higher scoring game. In the practice games that I ran against you guys, the score was usually much higher. I should add that we pretty much beat you guys almost everytime in practice games. Though it did even out a bit with Ripken in your lineup. From what I've seen as far as running your team against other teams in scrimmage mode, you guys are certainly better off with Ripken.

Either way, we rose to the occasion and pwnved you.

We play each other again in week 12.

I think it is well-established that DarkSide is manipulating the league in some capacity.  Let's just base our standings on non-DarkSide contests and make our judgments accordingly.
Title: Re: FRBI week 9
Post by: Darky on 04/27/09, 09:48:33 AM
Dude lol...The game was not manipulated. I won fair and square. No resets were pressed and the game was not recorded in order to reach a desired result. If anything, me making my team lose would make things look like it's fair and square...then me manipulating other games to insure that I win.

Sheesh MikeD, you can at least admit that I have a great team. No need to be a sore loser now.

Once the record button is pressed, it's magic and official. And Marty Barret torched you guys from the 8 hole. 3-3 with a sac fly and a triple. Barret is producing people. He was one of the last players taken in the draft, and a starter who is the lowest draft pick.

Nobody said you didn't let your team lose a couple of games.  The SC game is one of the "other games" that you are accused of manipulating.

Post by: Darky on 04/27/09, 10:02:19 AM
Are you fuckin serious Nacho? You haven't even seen the teams play. I don't need to manipulate anything. I have a great team... high contact hitters, good speed, ok power, and great pitching. I have two of the best SP's in my rotation in Cox and Morris. Their stats from previous seasons demonstrates this too.

lol...sore fuckin losers.

If anyone knows how I can shrink a video file, help me out so I can post the games with the live recording. I recorded the first few games to show everything is fair and square. But nobody clutched up in helping me post these recorded videos on here off my camera.

In any case, I had a superior draft and my team beat your team on the one and only time I hit the record button.

This will be my last post regarding this matter. I'll look into putting these games up live on youtube in some way to show that I'm not playing God.

Anways, boxscores and recaps coming up later. I'm doing the third game right now.

Empire pull away from Sally Cunts

BOSTON (AP) - In a highly anticipated match-up of first place teams at Bill Belichick Stadium, the Galactic Empire outscored the Sally Cunts 6-0 in the 8th and 9th innings to wrap up their league leading 7th win.

Down 13-3 in the bottom of the seventh and with D.Cox cruising the whole way, the Sally Cunts showed a lot of heart with a 9 run rally to tighten up the contest at 13-12. However, that would be as close as they could come to juggernaut Galactic Empire.

Puhl singled in Dykstra and Tramml singled in Puhl in the 8th to make it 15-12. Mtngly and Murphy went back to back jacks and Heath and Knight and Orosco all doubled which resulted in 4 runs making the score 19-12 going in to the bottom of the ninth.

Orosco pitched two scoreless innings in relief to slam the door on the Cunts.

Records - Galactic Empire (7-2) (5-1), Sally Cunts (5-4) 4-2)

Rebel Alliance dominate Chocolate Rain

DEE NEE (AP) - Roger Clemens pitched brilliantly and the Alliance offense got good production from their stars as the Rebel Alliance mercy ruled Chocolate Rain in six innings in business like fashion.

Roger Clemens allowed 4 ER on 9 hits in six innings of impressive work. J.Bell hit his 9th HR and Leonard hit his 7th as they both have come on really strong recently.

The DoveRBI contest was never close as the Chocolate Rain came out flat while the Alliance seemed to be playing with their lives on the line.

Records - Rebel Alliance (4-5) (3-4), Chocolate Rain (5-4) (4-3)

Awesome Badass offense wakes up from hibernation

SANTA MARIA (AP) - J.Key took a 3 hit shutout going into the 5th inning as the OC were up 6-0. After a Brenly double, an error and a pinch hit homer by Ashby, the score was 6-3 and in came Sutclf to hold the lead.
The Badasses tattooed Sutclf for 15 runs on 17 hits in his three innings of work. What was a pitchers duel, turned into a rout and the OC of the Central Coast never recovered as they could not chase Viola out of the game.

Jones and McGwir each hit a pair of shots to help shock the 3rd ranked pitching staff in the league. The win moves the Badasses into a first place tie with the Fighting Cutlers and Sally Cunts, but hold the edge with division records and head to head.

Records - Awesome Badasses (5-4) (5-2), OC of the Central Coast (4-5) (3-4)

I don't think he was. I sent him an offer via pm.

I'm willing to switch my position in the next draft with him for one or two of his stars.
I can still put together a good draft even if I flip-flop with him in the first four rounds or something.

Yeah, you're right in the sense that it would benefit me this season and Ryno next season, and nobody else stands to benefit. But trades are made to benefit the entities involved.
However, the trading guidelines were not clearly defined before the season, so one has to assume that this trading for draft picks is not official. So in theory, it would have to be voted on if it picks up enough steam...like if others wanted to do this or if a deal was struck between me and Ryno.
For example, I get a star for one of my not so huge stars, and then if I am ahead of Ryno in the first round in the next fantasy league, we'll flip-flop that round and the third round depending on the type of deal it is.

In any case, I wanna hear more opinions about this before I even consider bringing this up for a vote. As if now, it's just talk and I don't expect anything out of it. So far it seems like an unfair idea according to Nacho and MikeD.

Title: Re: FRBI week 9
Post by: Nacho on 04/27/09, 03:13:17 PM
My take is that there is no way that you can rationalize it to where it makes any sense or is fair at all.  Since it isn't a keeper league, we don't even know for sure who is going to be in the league next time around.  We don't have guidelines for this situation because there is no need to have guidelines for it.  I don't even see how this is a discussion.
Title: Re: FRBI week 9
Post by: Mike D. on 04/27/09, 03:14:38 PM
I don't like this idea at all.  It assumes everyone is in this for next season, too, and it also totally kills the next season were we to have one.
Title: Re: FRBI week 9
Post by: Darky on 04/27/09, 03:23:36 PM
Good points Mike and Nacho.

The important thing is that this league is deemed as fair as possible and that there be much anticipation for the next season which I'd like to get in before October.

I'd like to see everybody come back next season. I know not everybody will, but I do know that McLane and Gantry are Fantasy ballers. So I'm pretty sure they would take up a couple of vacant spots and others out there who have an interest in joining this prestigious league.

As commissioner of the Fantasy RBI League V, I am officially ending this speculation for the good will, integrity, and fairness of the league. This trading a star for a better position in the next draft will not take place this season. There will be no vote and the trading guide lines as we understand them still stand. Weeks 8-12 and player for player.

Thank you for your input and understanding.

May the Force be with you for the remainder of the season.

I agree with this ruling - I think it was generally understood that the league is a single-season entity, since all the previous leagues have been treated that way.

Fighting Cutlers hold off last inning Unholy Legions comeback

SIOUX FALLS (AP) -  In an offensive showdown at Sioux Falls Park, host Unholy Legions of Doom came up just short.

In the bottom of the 9th inning, GDavis hit an RBI single, advanced to second on a Hendrk throwing error and then ambitiously attempted to advance to third with two outs and his team down 17-16. The result was tragic. GDavis was tagged out at third base to end the thrilling game.

The Unholy Legions of Doom got a good outing from Sutton for the first four innings. Reushl then took the ball in relief in the 5th inning with a 6-4 lead, then 13 runs later the score stood 17-6 going into the bottom of the 6th inning.

The Fighting Cutlers are now 5-1 since dropping their first 3 games of the year.

T.Raines hit for the cycle and registered 5 RBI's and B.Hurst improved to 3-1 while Dayley barely picked up his first save of the year.

Records - Fighting Cutlers (5-4) (2-4), Unholy Legions of Doom (4-5) (3-3)

Fighting Artichokes breeze by Blue Ribbons in a sleeper

ARKANSAS (AP) - The Fighting Artichokes got great pitching from their starters and hit a season high 6 HR's as they breezed by the Pabst Blue Ribbons.

The Blue Ribbons continue to find ways to lose this year, especially on the basepaths. They had two sacrifice double plays kill two innings in the 4th and 5th as well as hitting into another double play in the 6th and being thrown out at home on two separate occasions.

Doc Gooden improves to 4-1 and M.Scott pitched impressively in relief.

DaEvans hit 2 more homeruns to make it 7 in his last three games.

DwEvans hit his 11th homerun and is second in the league behind Schmidt who hit his 12th against the Cutlers.

Records- Fighting Artichokes (4-5) (1-5), Pabst Blue Ribbons (2-7) (2-4)
