I was torn, as I did not know what board to post this on.
I figured this board would get more hits.
Dream 9 (http://mmajunkie.com/news/14733/sokoudjou-bob-sapp-and-jose-canseco-set-for-dream-9-tourney.mma)
This is not just a small event either.
He will be in an 8-man open weight tournament with Bob Sapp, Hong Man Choi (who fought Fedor NYE 2007), Rameau Thierry Soukodjou, Gegard Mousasi, and Mark Hunt.
Canseco will be fighting Hong Man Choi in the first round of the tournament.
Choi is listed at 352# and 7'2".
I'm definitely rooting for Canseco...and he claims to know "martial arts"...I'm just not buying it.
I like the Jason Miller vs Jacare fight.
Is it on TV?

Is it on TV?
It will be hard to find live since it is in Japan, and will start at like 2-3am in the US.
There is a chance that HDNET might pick it up, but I am sure you will be able to stream it somewhere online.
Jose could actually beat Hong Man Choi (although he did mess up Fedor and CroCop with one punch before getting finished).
However, if he actually has to fight someone legitimate like Hunt, Mousasi, or even Sapp, he will get destroyed early on.
This has incredible train wreck potential.
Didn't Canseco try a MMA fight a couple years ago and get absolutely demolished?
hi got tko'd by vai sikahema

I am convinced that Canseco has absolutely no intention on winning this fight.
If by some miracle he wins, there is no way he would accept a second round fight. It would literally be a death sentence for him.
The others in the final 4 will be very legitimate fighters.
Even Sapp?

Well thank you for posting here. I don't watch MMA, but will be glued to this event.

Cock in hand?
MBYC?
Yeah I was very immature and stupid back then. Now I'm just stupid. I mean immature!
kid yamamoto is on the card as well. he destroyed a guy i used to hang out with(caleb mitchell, son of artie mitchell) with a devastating knockout. i havent been paying attention to yamamoto since then but he used to be a very competitive fighter. it was one of the nastiest knockouts i have ever seen.
rewatching it, it isnt as nasty as i remember, but still a clean knockout

dang.
4 sec knockout by kid yamamoto

He's got a weird stand up...He seems to keep his hands down a lot.
HDNET is carrying this fight.
this really needs to be a breaking news announcement at the top of the forums

HDNET is carrying this fight.
I will be streaming it.
I refuse to pay $6.99/month for HDNET.
I suppose I could just buy it for 1 month and then cancel it.

That's what I plan on doing. You can come over here and watch it if you want, but that's a trek.

I am more concerned about the timing than the trek..... unless you don't mind someone at your house at 3am Tuesday morning to watch fights.
Who knows. Since there has been so much buzz, and Cuban has decided to air it live, they might reschedule the time.

Won't matter to me, I work from home and have nobody to report to.
Yamamoto is fighting Joe Warren, world champ in Greco Roman for the US who missed his Olympic bid by failing two drug tests (both pot) in a year and getting suspended. He has one whole fight on his resume, which he won by default when he was arguably losing. I have NO idea why the heck Warren thinks he can step in and fight Yamamoto.
Jose Canseco has no chance against Choi, Vai Saksjdfkljsdkljfsdlma was about half the weight as Choi and still knocked him silly. Choi may be a freak but he's been fighting for awhile and has a HUGE size advantage. Gonna be ugly...

Agree.
The only way Warren has a chance is if he can outmuscle him. Yamamoto is a true 135 pounder (has to cut no weight for that class).
I am not sure what weight this fight is, but either way, Warren should have a good size advantage.
I would say the line on Canseco should be about +750.
I actually thought Hong Man Choi look ok against Fedor considering Choi was not allowed to kick or throw knees in that fight. Choi almost buckled Fedor with a jab.
I am really rooting for Canseco though, as I would love to see him get his limbs torn off by someone like Hunt, Mousasi, RTS, or Sapp.

Canseco vs. Sapp would end with them gassed in the corner after 2 minutes.
Canseco vs. RTS would be hilariously awesome.

Canseco vs Sapp woudl be an absolute slaughter.
Most people thing Sapp is just a huge fat pile of shit, but that guy is very tallented. He has only lost 1 of his last 7 MMA matches (all wins by TKO/KO). Bobb Sapp also has 10-7 pro kickboxing record including two wins over Ernesto Hoost. Ironically, he lost a decision to Hong Man Choi.
Agree.
