Title: Denny Walling
Post by: TβG on 06/16/04, 10:36:21 AM
i just saw a report on espn news that said denny walling was fired and don baylor replaced him as batting coach.  at least an rbi'er displaced an rbi'er not with some younger guy who doesn't have the quality stats of a mid-80's non-'roided player.

What team is this for?
Maybe the general manager played RBI and figured he'd much rather have Don Baylor teaching his boys how to hit then sucky Denny Walling.

It was the Mets, of course.

The only thing Baylor can teach is how to step into pitches.  Which might actually help the Mets, since they don't seem to be able to take a walk...

DB is a great RBI'er, but as far as a coach/manager, all Cub fans can agree with me that he is pitiful.
