So I used to post here about 4 years ago on a regular basis...then deep sixed my account. Some of you might remember ericdavisfan. That's me. I once owned an arcade RBI machine and donated it to a local youth center. The youth center closed and I recently got that machine back. That prompted me to once again think of this clan (though I have had infrequent contact with Gantry via Facebook or e-mail). In my excitement of the return of my arcade machine, I felt that it would be nice to see how all of my Internety friends are doing these days. I will probably limit my exposure on this site mainly to the RBI area as to avoid the unfortunate circumstances that led to my initial demise. Anyway...sorry for leaving so abruptly, but it was the best decision for me at the time. Any of you who are still around from those days (2005, I suppose) would be proud to know that I have worked dee-nee speak into my daily lexicon even in my absence. I use IFF, band, and 'who pooped in your cheerios?,' frequently.
Anyway...hopefully you don't see my return as hypocritical or attention-seeking.
You hypocritical attention whore you.
Welcome back, EDF.
welcome! Sorry about that "cellphone finding" meatspin link.
Attention whore...that is another good dee-neeism. Glad to be called out on it so soon!!!
Reds...do not feel badly. It was not your (or anyone's fault) that I deleted my account. I knew the tomfoolery that goes on here. It was a logical and rational decision at that time. I just did not want to get in trouble for it because it was on my work computer. I was not angry at anyone and harbored no bad feelings. It was just the best decision at the time. I am confident that it won't be an issue. I will just be more careful to pay attention to the little dialog in the left corner of my IE window before I click on any links here!
GREENVILLE!
Now if I can just get Disco to rejoin...
EDF!!! Welcome back!
Thanks, Big Hath....I have to say, when I was making a list of things that I missed about this place, you weren't on it ;)
I kid...I kid
I think you're being too easy on Gantry. He really is the root of most problems around here...especially my internet being slow and it raining in June. Band? I say yes

No kidding, has it really been four years? Astonishing.
Big Hath can be number 1 in my heart.
As far as how long it has been since I offed the account. 2005 was my best recollection. I could be wrong, but that seems about right.
Great to have you back, I'm rolling out the red carpet for ya
i do believe the account was deleted in 2006. yes, i actually remember where i was when i read the "goodbye" post. unsurprisingly, i was in my house, and i lived in that house in 2006. it was sometime in the fall, i believe. anyways, good to have EDFan back, even though he said he wouldn't be back.
PS - look at anything goes, just only do it from home.
Welcome back EDF! Glad to see ya back man!
YES!
Are you still the world's greatest principal?
Hey welcome EDF! Wow, I was just asking someone at the Dee-Nee fest 2 weeks ago if anyone was still in contact with you. Ask and thou shalt receive.
Hearty G-Rated greetings.
Welcome back guy!
So... tempted... to post... lemon party.....
It took much longer for you to come back than I expected. I'm glad you're back, welcome!
Wonderful to have you back.
fkn A....good stuff here.

EDFan? Southern Indiana? WTF?
We should mention that one of the cooler things he missed while he was gone was Briznock playing Danny Cox in RBI.
I think that Gantry may have told me about Danny Cox playing RBI with someone. If I remember right, he said that either Cox pitched using himself or had to face himself. Either way, I just remember thinking that I was surprised that it did not cause some sort of Back to the Future paradox where the space-time continuum imploded. That is some cool stuff. How did this opportunity present itself anyway?
As far as trying to find my school, you had the right state, but I am in the northeast corner. Not far from Ohio or Michigan.
A "Hey Dude" pic. All I can say is....Wow. Haven't seen that show since I was in high school. I used to watch that, Salute Your Shorts, and You Can't Do That On Television quite frequently.

I assume you know Les Lye died a couple of weeks ago?
Les Lye? As in Barf and the guy who owned Blip's Arcade? I did not know that :'(

It's information like the passing of Barf that keeps people coming back to dee-nee. You just can't get this stuff anywhere

yeah, that's him - except it was Barth
I guess barf is what they did after eating Barth's food.
I always thought it was Barf too

A Dee-Nee Fest was held in St. Louis, and the fest attendees attended a Gateway Grizzlies game. rdub, the Fest organizer, notified the Grizzlies' office of the group visit, and it turns out that the staff were fans of both RBI and Dee-Nee, and they had an NES with RBI in the office. Cox was the manager of the team, and the Fest attendees got a chance to meet with him, at which time Briznock went up against him in RBI (just for one batter, I think), with Cox using himself as pitcher.
Well...with a little google news search I have confirmed that Les Lye has gone teats up and that his character name was Barth. I feel as though I have learned, yet lost, so much today
Wait...so you guys had a Dee-Nee Fest with an RBI'er in attendance? That is fantastic! Gantry may have told me all of those details, but that must have escaped me. I am seriously impressed.
edfan - here is a link to the 2008 summerfest thread.

Short version is that we went to a Independent League game and by sheer luck the people who do bookings are dee-nee fans. They totally hooked us up and let us in the office to play Danny Cox (who was at the game, but I believe was an ex coach) for one batter.
None of the above was planned, we just wanted to go to a baseball game as a group.
I didn't realize all of that, either. Are they lurkers or do any of the staff actually post?
Welcome back edfan.
Still believe in Jesus and all that stuff?

Hey Shooty, I do still believe in Jesus....as far as "all that stuff," it is a broad range, so I will say probably.
...and I agree with Attez, that is the best post by Dark Side that I recall (not meant as a shot at you, but that is a quality post)
Wowza, I go to colorado for 4 days and this happens!
Welcome back and thanks for not hiring Nate Nate Nate for a teaching position out there. That woulda put some severe clamps on our Tecmo playing.
Wsup edfantastic? nice to see you are posting again!!

But it makes up for Darkie not getting enough credit for his condensed screenplay of Titanic.
lol...
Yeah, the Titanic thing...I threw up rdub's post up there to test out some things, I guess you guys are more heads up than I thought. I was trying to bait Reds to say how stupid my post was, then I wanted to point out that it was his hero's....FAIL'D
I beat Kane to the punch...and the genius of my post is that it was Hello Again'd the second time around. So there Broiler---homo lover.
what a master manipulator.
