It's a close second behind Donnie Moore.

what's that supposed to mean?
Donnie Moore vs. a shotgun.
Who won?
I remember that! I was in short-season A ball when that happened. The stupid clubhouse equipment guy would not stop talking about it...he said that men in their 40's are strong as a tree trunk...
Nice headlock though....

Was he in his 40's and nicknamed Old Hickory?
so donnie moore's fight with his wife? the shotgun is a good guess though.
heh, you've got to wonder what in the world Ventura was thinking when he charged Ryan.
"I had a 58-game hitting streak in college! Nobody pitches inside to me!!"
There is about a two or three second pause after he gets hit. He kind of clutches his bat close and starts toward first with his head down. I often wonder what Robin Ventura thought in those short moments that made him decide that charging Nolan Ryan was the appropriate decision at that point
Ventura did the right thing, nobody should get an exception for plunking people on purpose. You wanna plunk people, you gotta be ready to defend yourself. And Ryan sure did defend himself...
