I just picked one up on ebay....I don't know if you knew this but you can play Fami games on the NES if you have an adaptor which can be found in a few games actually...hogan's alley, excitebike, gyromite, stack up....to name a few, not all of those have them though. They should feel slightly heavier and that would be the giveaway...now I just have to pick one of those up and I'll be able to play 'er on my NES.
Right, not all copies of these games have the adapters, if you get it working let us know, I've been thinking about picking up a copy of FS myself.
yeah...I think I'll just have to hop around the used game places and pawn shops instead of taking a risk on eBay of it actually being the right one, I might go throw and check my games too, who knows maybe I do have one....but I still dont have the 3.8mm security bit which they charge 300x what it costs to make but what can ya do. If anyone thinks they have a game thats a early version and is definitly heavier and wants to sell it....lmk
I remember people saying MCM Electronics (http://www.mcmelectronics.com/) is a good place for that tool, reasonable priced...
I did the whole open my games, including a trip to GameStop where I bought 4-5 confirmed games taht I thought were heavier. No dice and my Family Stadium remains unplayed after a couple years of ownership...
Hmm...Well I'll sure give it a shot and if I end up getting 2 you're welcome to have one
I'm pretty sure the carts that have the security bits are too old for the 72-pin adapter. May be wrong on that, but I think the original batch of games (which just used phillips) are the only ones with the converter. Once NOA ramped up production in the US, the converters weren't necessary...
Hmm...well that would be cool if that was true, then at least you could search only for this with philips and then you wouldnt need a bit either
I'll do a little more research and get back
Looks like I'm wrong according to tsr:

If you have to go through the effort of getting a new screwdriver, spending $10 on EBay is probably the best method...
Yeah, I read that first too, but now I've found others that disagree http://blake.prohosting.com/coleco/nes/ (http://blake.prohosting.com/coleco/nes/)
"You'll only find them in games with flat tops and with five flathead screws on the back instead of the newer kind with the hooks on top and three security screws on the back."
Hmm...I do have 2 games like that, I'll have to check them out when I can find a little flathead. Neither feel heavier though. Seems like the titles include Duck Hunt, Gyromite, Excitebike, Super Mario Bros, Wrecking Crew, Stack Up (if you have this....don't take it a part..please lol), Urban Champion (my favorite worst game in the world..I can't be the only person in the world that loves this game), Hogan's Alley....if I had to guess for more...Gumshoe, Mario Brothers (non super), Ice Climber, Kid Icarus maybe, umm..the NES sports series (gold, tennis, baseball, soccer, pinball?) I'd guess those just based on the fact they were the same in Japan and the US.......anyway...wish me luck I'm off to check for connectors..
BTW can you open the FS game? I could just drop all that in my NES cart if I had the connector, am I mistaken?

Not quite sure what you are asking here but once you get the 72-pin adaptor you attach it to the bottom of the cart and slide it into the NES. I don't think you need the casing from the original NES title or have to take apart the Famicom game...
excerpt from the link I posted before
"Once you take it apart you'll have a cute little game card that works on a Famicom or your new adaptor, and the adaptor itself. It won't fit onto games as it is though. The easiest thing to do is to take off the black part and flip it over so the games go onto the longer end. Some games still will not fit, so you can either cut or grind off some plastic from the sides."
I read somewhere else (can't find the link now) you can pop out the famicom game board drop it in your adaptor and put all that back in the NES cart....figured like the best way to do it to me
Wow....I popped on my emulator and played a few innings (my first time)...the pitching is amazing, it seems like it would be maybe a decent challenge against the computer...I went through all my pitchers and my 4th pitcher was a sidearm he was throwing in the 150's (kph), which I believe is in the mid 90s? he was a righty and could break a screwball more than most RBI pitchers can break a curve..then the guy throwing against me had like a freakin splitter....that's what I'd call it I guess...it was going probably 80mph and would hit the dirt...crazyness
I'm definitly glad I picked it up now
not sure if anyones gonna read this anymore, but I don't suppose theres anyway to view the players stats/modify them with any of the FS roms is there?...
There isn't a full-fledged editor yet, but there has been some discussion about it, and some forum members have looked into the ROM and found some info.
