Title: almost pitcher homerun
Post by: jcbball86 on 06/27/04, 12:31:55 AM
ok it was at the cotut and nolan ryan was up to bat with a man on second and he hits a shot and goes perfectly down the line and goes through the wall probably about 1/3 up on it but they called it FOUL! that would of been the first (in my experience) pitcher homerun ever.  i ended up striking out, then later lost the series which ended my cotut run.  i would of walked out a happy man if i got a homerun with nolan even if the cotut was over for me.  clark carden was who i was playing and is my witness.
anyway, i must now hand over my spot as 4th best in the universe to someone else who deserves it more (last tourney was a fluke for me)
beales, this may be it for me if next tourney is 100 bucks like you say.

WoW.  I'm sorry to hear that JC.  Maybe that hit was just a tad too foul for it to be called a through-the-wall homer?  That's a tough break.  Although, Carden was a formidable opponent.  He went on a rampage in the consolation bracket after losing his initial series to me.

Not sure about the details of the next COTUT just yet.  Upping the entry fee is a good possibility, but that hasn't been decided on yet.  I wouldn't give up yet and of course I have to disagree that last tourney was a fluke for you... beating Raila, DiPasquale, and O'Connor is no easy task.
