Title: RBI Cartridge Help
Post by: broiler on 10/20/09, 06:30:37 PM
I hear of people burning ROMs onto cartridges.  are these standard NES blank cartridges and where do you get them?  and how easy is it to burn the carts?

even better, i would pay good money to someone if they made me a few RBI cartridges for NES.  i have never played any of the ROMs i have heard of but would like to play the following:

2009 teams
heaven and hell
different stadiums

seriously, i would make this worth it if someone burned me these.  BIG MONEY!

There is a link on here somewhere.  There is a guy that can do it if you ship him the cartridges.

Certain games will work and he can just erase that game and burn the new ROM onto the cartridge.  I think he will even put a new sticker on the game for you.

One of these days I'll update the Heave versus Hell ROM.   I think some new dead guys were voted into the game and I never made it happen.

This really isn't what you're looking for, but I'm fascinated by the PowerPack that allows you to put any ROM on a CF card, plug the CF card into the cartridge, then play the cartridge on an NES.  Too cool.  Also too expensive.

This is seriously bad ass.  I wonder if it actually works as advertised.

Yeah, if it was $50 I would already own it.  $135 is beyond what I can justify, especially since there's a good chance I would use it a couple of times and then stop.

I think I might buy it if I had a reliable Nintendo.  At this point I'm still waiting to own one.

he responded to my email already saying it would be $25 if i provided the carts, but i told him that he should provide the carts and i will pay extra.  as advertised, he was very quick to respond.

I can attest to this working well. He responded promptly, I bought a cartridge at a second hand videogame store, sent it to him, I got it back in a reasonable time and have played my 2004 playoffs mod for the last 2.5 years.

No idea whether stuff like the green monster mod would work though.

so i need some help.  i found this 30 team ROM thread and he said currently it uses the 2009 rosters.  i am totally clueless and dont know how to open it to verify that it has all the 2009 teams before i send it to the cart guy.  anyone want to do me a solid and open it up and check to see if this has the 2009 teams?  thanks

also, i have no idea how to send this to the cart guy.  he already has the rbi arcade, but how would i send this one to him?

i have no idea how to send the zip file, maybe i will just link him to the dee-nee threads and hopefully he will figure it out.

TBG, assistance needed.  on achildprodigys thread you reposted two ROMs.  one is "new rbi"  and the other is "wrigley".  here are links to the thread pages

http://forums.dee-nee.com/index.php?topic=17291.140 (about 2/3 down page)

two questions:
1. is "new rbi" with just yankee stadium and is "wrigley" just with wrigley?
2. are there teams already loaded into these, so that i could just send this link to the cart guy?

You should be able to just download the ROM file to your hard drive, then send it to the guy as an email attachment.

I'm reasonably certain that the updated stadium ROMs are just one stadium per cart.  I think they have updated rosters (I recall a screenshot with Matsuzaka), but I don't know from what exact year.

Last I checked the 30 team rom was not up to date.

if not the 30 team rom, is there any 2009 ROM that is up to date?

Broiler, as far as the TEAMS in the "New RBI" and "wrigley"... i don't think you'll like the rosters.  i don't even think that all teams and stats were updated for those roms, just a few teams.  i haven't tried to load those ROMs in the editor.  maybe someone can do that for you today, i'm sorry, i probably won't have time to do that.
