Writing up my will in the next few days, who is interested? Granted it may take 60 years for me to die, but Legalzoom will let me I'll add your name if you promise to take it.
Multiple interested parties can have a dance off, or something...

Nomaaa is the winner, if for no other reason than he should probably outlive me. PM real address info (probably parents) and I'll see if I can get you on there...
No fucking way!
I'm laying claim on this bad boy. Gantry BE MY FRIEND! GIVE IT TO ME WHEN/IF YOU DIE!!
Also, I can totally serve nomaaa if need be.

Gantry, what can I have of yours?
His cats
All of them?
You can have anything you want that isn't money, looking for something in particular?

Down 65K in value since 2007, so I owe what it's worth. Have fun!
just don't die anytime soon.
Working on it!
BREAKING NEWS! I'm going with a Living Trust instead of a will, so I'm not sure how fine-grained my "giving shit away" abilities will be with my online LegalZoom trust. The Good Brother is the trustee if I croak so get on his good side...
So then we can get this stuff while you're still alive?
Yes, I know that's not what a Living Trust is.
So Gantry gave me the arcade RBI almost three years ago. I have barely used it in the past two years. The side that once had Castlevania now has Vs Super Mario Brothers (and the sound now works; it didn't when I got it). The RBI side has some issues with the monitor; sometimes it powers up and sometimes it doesn't. Some research online tells me that it needs a cap kit.
I meant to work on this two summers ago and obviously never got around to it. I was going to mentally add it to my list of summer projects that I probably still won't do this summer. If someone on the forums wants it and thinks they would get more use out of it than I have gotten, they are welcome to take it.
TL;DR: If you want Gantry's RBI arcade (which needs some minor work), you can have it.
I may potentially be interested. My RBI arcade sat in storage for a while when I didn't have room for it, and then never worked again after I moved and brought it home. One year for Christmas my wife was going to surprise me by taking it to a repair place, but they basically said it was fucked.
So yeah, I'd take it if you're interested in giving it away, and I think we'll be in Chicago for a weekend over the summer, though that's still kind of up in the air.
I would enjoy having that in my house. Consider me interested.
If you order the cap kit, I can bring my soldering gear and help get it installed.
Mine is wedged in the basement of the duplex I own and I'm terrified of damaging the monitors and what not in another transfer. I'd be interested in hearing how the repair work goes, might motivate me to not be so hesitant.
im driving across the country in the beginning of august & am passing thru chicago. i am potentially interested
I'll add you to the list of people who said they are interested but didn't come pick it up or anything.
If I get around to ordering and installing the cap kit, I'd probably keep it...so get it while I'm lazy!
I wouldn't be opposed to bringing up to Milwaukee and doing the work on it that needs to be done to get it going, then passing it along to another RBI fan to enjoy. I have a bunch of extra parts accumulated from my red tent.
If we truly want to get this thing into service, I think I have the time and energy... Turd is in the area so it would give us a reason to drink and repair the thing. What side of Chicago is this GD thing on?
I'm going to get my red tent out of the duplex basement tomorrow night if I can get someone to help me carry the fucking thing. That way I know if my Chevy Traverse can fit it reasonably. If that is the case, that's one step closer to bringing Gantry's up here to refurbish for someone.
I has a Cavalier station wagon when I bought it and it fit in there, sort of, so I'm not anticipating any problems.
Stay tuned.
the cavalier station wagon used to be manufactured in lordstown, ohio (along with the pontiacs sunfire & sunbird) from 1982 through 2005
Seeing as though I said "I has" in my last post you can tell I'm really on top of this project.
I gave that wagon to my nephew and it was in the junk yard 3 weeks later.

I'd love to own RBI, it would be awesome to get the cocktail version.
Bumpy roads from Green Bay to Milwaukee nearly put my red tent to rest. They are delicate.
Ended up at a Xtina Aguilera concert with my daughter tonight so the local red tent rescue was held off.
All the roads in WI are bumpy now, thanks Gov! Went to MN recently and the gas prices there were always cheaper than WI, now they are higher but their roads are less bumpy.
I grabbed the Red Tent from the Duplex yesterday, she was pretty dirty.
Golf side of it not firing up, which happens from time to time.
Going to see what I can do to fix that but I'm kind of a pussy when it comes to residual voltage.
RBI side fired without a problem, I'm going to replace the locks, the coin slots and some of the other minor issues to get it back to some semblance of it's earlier glory.
golf & rbi in one arcade machine sounds like a dream
Golf is really really fun, I just think the monitor is out once and for all on that side of the tent. Maybe Gantry can show me how to safely work on it - I just don't want to electrocute myself for the sake of Nintendo Golf.
Took a snap of the RBI side warmed up after a few years without play.
my childhood friends and i still play the fuck out of golf at least once a year.
our course record is like -18, which shattered our previous record of -15 & was done while player 2 hit a -17
i was player 2.
and i hear arcade golf is a different course which is like all i ever wanted
If I bang on the fucking thing enough it might kick in.
thats the spirit
Alright, banging on the thing no longer does the trick.
I believe there is power to every thing and that golf is actually working it's just that the monitor will not come on.
Anyone have any thoughts on what might be the problem? Cap?
Caps are usually the issue

Want to find a day for some boozing and RBI arcade repair up here in the Milwaukee area?
Or perhaps walk me through not killing myself trying to fix it.
I've never done it on a CRT before but I have changed out caps. I'd say sure to that but god only knows when that would be. The biggest thing is to unplug the TV/arcade for a couple days before starting to let the monster caps drain.
