How many people would be interested in playing RBI on a semi-regular basis in Chicago? I'm more than willing to put up the Dee-Nee house every 6-12 weeks for some RBI action. Doesn't have to be a consistent thing or even for any sort of title, just getting 3-10 people around to play RBI. I think the key is to not do it too often so people can plan ahead and we can possibly get relatively close out-of-towners like Repeat/Nightwulf/Reds/etc .
I can setup two TVs plus the RBI arcade here at Tahoe - if we can get enough people who prefer the city proper we can have it at Sperlings (though he only has HDTVs). I have open bedrooms for folks to crash and we can turn it into an all-day affair / minifest as well.
So I guess the big two questions are the following:
1) Would you be interested?
2) If you are interested, how often could you realistically see yourself coming out?
The realization that we didn't even have our own RBI Tourney and the fact that NOBODY on this board plays RBI more than a handful of times a year is starting to piss me off. So I'm going to do something about it.
UNITE!

Since I have 4 TVs currently hooked up for football, the sky's the limit based on how many people we can get. Would be short on NESes, but people can bring those...
Interested, I could probably do it once every few months
talk to me circa february and an undetermined amount of time past that (somewhere between three months and my death)
I definitely wouldn't start it for a couple months minimum, cause we have the NCAAs in March and a potential dee-nee fest around that time.
Waiting til you got back as a "regular" makes sense - I'm assuming I can get 2-3 of the dee-nee crew out for this every event as well.
NES doesn't work on an HD TV?
i've seen it be way too laggy on some televisions
I'm back in Chicago once every 2-3 months, so if scheduling permits I'd love to play. Could bring my NES.
I'd be interested if my family obligations don't bog me down too much. I am going to Chicago in the Spring for a comic convention and could possibly swing by. I have a nes with RBI as well of course.
It sounds like we can make this happen - out of towners, let me know when you'll be in Chicago in the 1st half of the year and I'll try to arrange
I'll be down once its safe to plan snow free midwest trips.

It's a 2 hour drive and I have minimal obligations. As long as I have a couple weeks advance notice I'm in.
Bribe me with some cheap beer and I may even kidnap Brookens and bring him with me!
With my current (and supposed "permanent" work schedule), this would only work on Thursday nights. Maybe Sunday. So I'm likely out unless I take time off or switch, which is doable on occasion.

Yeah, I'm thinking if it's infrequent enough and planned well in advance folks can move things around to make it happen. Every 2 months makes sense...
Judging by that other thread, I need to practice my drinking and RBI skills before we get together.
A standing challenge to all StL players, the Astros are ready for you. (regular pitching, 1sp or 2)
We definitely can do whatever format most prefer. In fact, I would discourage hard drinking rules regardless so we can keep our sanity. I got no qualms with a curve tourney or just an open format or whatever.

If you're thinking of doing a tourney every other month why not alternate between types of play?
Jesus, guy, if you want to make up the rules why don't you start your own tourney?

That is a fantastic idea. Rule #1 Mike D not invited!
Whenever you guys want to do it, I'm down with playing any time. Between splitting my time with my band as well as work and what not, RBI always calls my name. Count me in once you guys start rolling.
