Title: RBI Player's Circuit
Post by: Turd on 03/03/10, 12:18:26 AM
For playing Tecmo pickup games, we have the TPC (Tecmo Player's Circuit).  I wanted to have something for RBI people to use for the same purpose...to add a little spice to playing some of those pickup games.  So, I wrote a site that is very similar to the Tecmo one.  If any of you online folks want to use it, just go to the site (link below) and sign up.   I'll authorize your account and you can start using it (which for now, also means helping me test and find bugs).

I'll be writing up an FAQ on how to use it for those of you not familiar with how it all works, but for now, just hit me up via this thread or PM.

I know this will probably struggle to gain traction, at least for a while, but as I said before, it was fun to write, and even if only a few of us use it, I'm cool with that. Not to mention, this provides a solid base for a league website should we ever decide to run a league).

Check it out:

Just click the signup button if you're interested, and I'll authorize your account.

Hey Turd,
Is there anyway to allow the Original RBI, same teams & 2 Player pause rom from the DeeNee rom page to be supported on your players circuit page.  I tried to upload a few games and it says it's unsupported.  We always like to play the same teams against each other.

I don't think that should break my code, but I'll have to see. It depends on how I'm determining opponent. I'll get back to you. You can download the supported ROMs from the downloads page. I'll get back to you.

After looking at the code, I think this will work...let me do some testing.  If it's all good, I'll let it allow same team games, and I'll remove the restriction so that you can upload any ROM.  If it's not a "supported" one, it'll fall under the "other" type, but you'll still be able to upload.

Ok, go ahead, you should be able to upload your games now...

Thanks Turd!  I uploaded them under the original ROM and it worked.  It looks like the H/G is not being calculated correctly.  I have 16 hits in 2 games and it says my average is 16/G.

Thanks for setting this up Turd!  It's awesome!

Thanks!  I'll look into the H/G thing.

H/G is fixed...I was calculating using the Slugging Percentage formula as hits...(1B + 2*2B + 3*3B + 4*4B)/Games Played.

Yep, that'll produce some incorrect results :)

Thanks Mister...just beat Dirty_Swinger in a World Series matchup...Ross Gload comes off the bench to PH for Halladay in the 7th, hits a bomb with all 785 (+64) of his power points...

I forgot to save the first game, but I captured the 2nd game and uploaded her. Oh the shame.

I think Mauer was like 7-8, I know in the first game he went 3-3, 2 hr, 4 rbi, and an hbp.

He's really, really good.

Funny thing is...I swear to god I was trying to bean him in that first at bat and he still mashed one 650ft with his knuckles. I think his power might need to be turned down a notch. Hes not Ted Williams.  :'(

Fun games tonight. First game I couldn't get the ball out of the infield again, and I was fielding like a drunk 4-year old.  I was down 10-1 when Prince hit a HR so far it broke the game and we lost connection.  I uploaded a partial game so Attezz could have the win, he deserved it.  It's good for me it happened, as Coffey was gassed in the 7th, meaning I had two more innings to go with one rested pitcher. Yikes! Can you say mercy rule?

Second game I played a lot better.  I hit well, advanced bases nicely, and didn't fall for the base-running shenanigans I did fell for in the first game.  I end up splitting the two-game series with a 7-1 win.

Box score for the second game (http://www.rbibaseball.us/players/game/41)

Attezz, I think there's something going on with your Internet (maybe a weird wireless interference, I've seen that before) because you're the only one I ever get that slow-down from that occasionally happens every few minutes.  Either way, you're fun to play against, we shall meet again, as your win dropped my ranking to 3 and you moved up to the 1 spot.

We need to get a real tourney going. This last one prove some people don't feel like playing. We just need to find people who do.

Turd-I'd really like to play you again sometime.  It never seems to work out.  I am available most nights between 7:30 and 9MST.

I'm not able to be on until after 10 CST. That's usually the earliest I can do.

Very bad night of RBI for me.  Got swept...started out well hitting three jacks, one by weeks on the first AB, but somewhere in the middle he tied it up at 3-3, and Gallardo was tired by the 5th.  After that, I couldn't stop it.

Second game, I kept missing easy fielding plays down the first base line, and giving up HRs. Attezz pitched well around my power hitters, and I couldn't do the same vs. him.

Plus he is drunk. A winner is not me.

Nice, a few newcomers to the RPC scene playing games without my assistance (or knowledge)...very nice to see...
