Hello everyone,
I guess its time I stopped lurking and said hey to the RBI community.
Been checking out gantry's baseball page and the forums for years now, saw how lots of people still enjoying my fav game of all time, but never
got around to posting. Just wanted you to know that the game still lives, and there are others who love RBI out there.
Awesome job with the editing...nightwulf and now Tecmoturd!!! I have made roms with online with night's online editor, enjoyed the heck out of it, I'm sure the 30 team editor will blow me away.
Jim from Indiana
ps....best rbi character out there....gotta be Dale Murphy ;)
Welcome, Sham. Real credit goes to jstout, nightwulf, and cxrom. Without them, I'm just a highly-motivated hobbyist needing to find something else to do with the little free time I have.
P.S. Totally thought this was a spam post based on the subject line :)
I dont like this...
Theres only room for one Jim from Indiana here.
we can refer to him as Mrs. Hamrock.
Welcome to you! keep the game alive

How much luck have folks had getting their kids to play RBI? My almost-5-year-old generally only wants to play Wii Sports or the Wiimote mode in MLB Power Pros on the rare occasions I can talk him into some baseball.
I'm hopeful that once he starts playing some organized baseball (assuming he does that; he shows a lot of interest right now), he will want to actually play a baseball game rather than just swinging the bat, and RBI will be the easiest thing to introduce him to. Folks with older kids, can you confirm or dispute that at all?
My kids are 2.5 and 11 weeks old. I did have my son try to play it once because he freakin' loves baseball, and he thought it was cool that he could press a button and make the guys move, but he's an unworthy opponent at this juncture. Here's to hoping he stays with baseball as he gets older. The little tyke has been able to throw a ball since about 1.5 years of age...
So, completely ignoring your question about people with older kids, that is my answer.

Knowing that you we're only been playing against a two year old to prepare for Milwaukee dee-nee fest explains alot.
Yeah, he beats me regularly.
<hijack>
When are we doin' lunch, Bastardo?

Yah we are blasting this thread now but oh well...
I just got back from Nashville last night, back at work today, should be good to go this week sometime.
I have to get through some work but should be alright by mid-week.
subject line should have ended with "imo" imo
no rush, I don't really want to hang out with you anyways. I am now involved in a weight loss challenge, but I could make an exception.
We can go get hit a salad bar somewhere...
:-\
They still got Ponderosas or Sizzlers in Milwaukee? Cause that would rule...
There was a Ponderosa actually pretty close to that bowling alley but it closed about a year ago, I think that was the last of them.
Man, only a year ago? Haven't seen one in Chicago in ages...
Perhaps 1.5 years ago but no longer than that. There was a Wendy's that went out of business in the same area. Both disappointing.
There might be a Ponderosa in Indianapolis somewhere if you want us to swing by and pick you up on the way down.
Reds - can you confirm or deny this ponderosa in Indy?
Holy shit, Hoss from Bonanza started Ponderosa!

Anyone know/remember the Bonanza STeakhouses?
The only two Ponderosa's within 50 miles are in Aurora and Gary, IN - two towns that aren't on my top5:

Theres one in Scottsburg....about twenty miles from here.
Would you consider the food delicious or extremely delicious?
Fucking gross.
You sure? Cause it used to be delicious a good 15 years ago. Maybe 20...
Trust me, you dont wanna eat anything from Scottsburg buddy.
Whereas, Seymour has the absolute finest Taco Bell you could ever dream of dining in. I can assure you of that.
So what you are saying is we can stop at a Ponderosa... in Gary, Indiana... birthplace of the great Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson... on the way down to Indy?
10-4
Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson is definitely the most famous native from Gary, Indiana.

No more ponderosas here in Bloomington IN
As far as taco bells go....good enough food, as long as I dont have to think about who is making it.
"Wash thy hands, chef of the 99 cent burrito!!!"
I'm officially getting creeped out here.

My dad was a big fan - we'd eat at Bonanza pretty much every time we went to Bismarck.
There is a Ponderosa in Maysville, KY, baby!!
God bless Maysville
Dee-Nee Fest Maysville, Ponderosa edition? Plan it for 2015!
Think the Ponderosa will last another 5 years?
Yeah, probably ... I think it's been there for nearly 10 years now. Used to be a Shoney's, but that was closed by the health department. Ponderosa has been going strong ever since!
Ponderosa really? Used to have one in Madison but it probably closed because it was so awful. One in Wisconsin Dells though if you are hard up. I think one exists in Beaver Dam WI too if I remember correct.
Is it still 1993 in the Dells?
