Title: RBI on my phone.
Post by: Briznock on 05/04/10, 04:57:49 PM
Well... Just finished a full game of RBI on my phone.  Nesoid emulator for the Droid.
So awesome.   Tudor no hitter over three innings in an 11-0 win.  Screeshots to come next game.

I'm so in your head...  First post in no clue how long. On the RBI board and you're here in minutes.  Don't be offended that I'm stronger, faster, smarter and more handsome than you. There are lots of us on the planet. Plus our thick heads of hair are more awesome.

I just said it sounded lame, no offense taken---no need to take it personal now and flex your ego.

It does sound cumbersome to play RBI on your phone. Is it hard to pitch without a joystick?

It's no innuendo. But striking out the side with Tudor while dumping was the shit.    Get it!?

I registered just to confirm how awesome this is.

I have no idea how this could possibly sound "lame" - having the ability to play NES at any time has been a life-changing thing for me (A. that is a bit dramatic obviously, but B. it is seriously incredible to be able to pull out my phone and play RBI during life's random little dull moments... you can minimize get back to it at any time. So, you can just play straight on through vs. the CPU and play like an inning at a time all day long.)

The on-screen keypad takes a bit of getting used to, but it is pretty intuitive. It's hard to play games where you need to hit two buttons at once (for ex., it's really hard to be any good at Mario games because it's hard to run and jump at the same time, which is obviously essential). I'm pretty crappy at fielding fly balls, but I've only had my Droid X like a week so I'm getting better. It makes games vs. the CPU interesting since they're able to actually score some runs.

But, there is another free app that lets you sync a Wii remote to the phone, since the WiiMote has Bluetooth capabilities. This is when you can get really rolling and it's basically a perfect mini NES. However, it's hard for me to justify carrying a WiiMote around in my pocket all day.

So in conclusion, the NESoid is mind-blowing, and you should immediately download it if you've got an Android phone.

I sometimes take my turds out of the toilet and just hold them in my hands.  I don't really do anything with them -- I just like to hold them.

I love my iphone but a lack of RBI/NES emulation may be a reason to switch to droid the next time I need to buy a phone...

i haven't enjoyed the emulator performance for RBI (nesoid lite).  i don't think the screen controls are effective.

Yeah, onscreen controls are no good. Need that piece that fits on the phone.
