Title: Next-generation RBIer update
Post by: BeefMaster on 06/10/10, 01:06:16 AM
According to the notes from the Twins-Royals game tonight, the Royals drafted Kevin Seitzer's stepson Nick Graffeo in the 38th round of the draft.  Also, in a WATN update*, Seitzer is the Royals' hitting coach.

* The WATN page needs a lot of updating, methinks - it was last touched when Clemens and Julio were still active.

Frank Viola III has been signed by the St. Paul Saints of the independent American Association (http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-violasson).  They're in the same league as the Sioux Falls Pheasants, so perhaps I will see him pitch in person.

seitzer and bream (not sure of any others) sons are playing in the cape cod league all-star game.  you might catch a replay on cbs college sports channel. (i know bream isn't an rbi'r, but he was a pro, ok?  and barry bonds couldn't throw him out).

The Twins drafted Lee Mazzilli's son L.J., a second baseman who played college ball at Connecticut, yesterday.  The blog entry where I read about it (http://aarongleeman.com/2012/06/06/twins-follow-byron-buxton-pick-by-loading-up-on-hard-throwing-pitchers/) described him as "good-hitting, iffy-fielding".

Yeah, some kind of nice simple wiki would be really nice.  We could all contribute...
