THIRTY TWO INNINGS of nail biting, pressure cooker baseball. The only way to describe this series is EPIC. With the game on the line in so many close situations, both teams played great and stayed alive by inches inning to inning. Tons of fun, and this is what this league is all about! Great games JJ23!Game 1Featuring game changing speed, the Rays came out running fast and often. Bloop, steal, bloop, steal, bloop and its 2-0 Rays after the 1st inning. It took the never say die Athletics until the 5th to tie it up 2-2 and a tight game went late and deep into the bullpens. In the top of the 16th, the Rays finally broke through and took a 3-2 lead with more fearless base running. Luckily for the A's, the Rays bullpen was lobbing softballs by this point and they were able to scratch out a run to tie it. In a nice turn of the tables, the A's Nyjer 'Haulin Ass' Morgan slapped a two out double and his blazing speed forced an error from the Rays defense for a walk off two base error. In an eye popping statistic, the Rays swiped
SIX bases from the A's in an epic contest.

Game 2More spectacular pitching from two very competitive clubs featured the A's taking a 1-0 lead on a ringing single from Troy 'Balco' Glaus in the first inning. The game stayed close until it was knotted up in the 5th with more aggressive base running by Dexter 'Forrest' Fowler, Chone 'Flash' Figgins and the running Rays. Both teams labored late and worked their bullpens to the point of exhaustion taking the 1-1 game into the 16th inning when Carlos 'Call me Tony' Pena drilled a two out walkoff solo Home Run to seal the victory. The loss sent the Rays away dejected, dropping their first series of the season and looking for a way to fill the power void missing from their lineup.

Impressive, Kahouty! He's not an easy win as you've experienced, so goodonya for getting that series out of the way with a sweep.
