Title: The Dickey Thon rule...
Post by: beano on 07/27/04, 02:15:15 AM
This rule has been in tacked for about 5-6 years... being that we do not play straight pitch RBI, we have one rule that has remained solid for years, the Dickey Thon rule... arguably the worst player in the game on the worst team, when a player so choses to use Thon during the course of a game he has to be fed a pitch down the middle of the plate... Thon has Ozzie Smith like power, and is god awful in the game... I wanted to see if any of you other RBI hardcores had any other similar rules/thoughts or things to say about the rule and mine and several other peoples opinion about Thons ability...

Dickie Thon is the best name in all of RBI Baseball

We usually give a straight pitch to the pitcher, but I don't think Thon is the worst in the game.  There are several players worse than him.  S. Owen, Santana, Thompson, Lake to name a few.

Well, there's a BIG problem with giving Dickie Thon or any other pinch-hitter a pitch right down the pipe:  he's usually gonna crush it for a homer.
Any at bat after the first, go for it.  But don't fuck with a pinch hitter fresh off the bench.  Very bad news.
