Title: Throwing runners out at third every time
Post by: capt_taco on 07/31/04, 05:45:35 AM
Does anyone else remember this technique? If the computer gets a hit to the left side, you just let the ball hit the wall, get your outfielder right next to it and wait until a split-second after the runner makes the turn to third. Then you instantly throw to third; you can chuck him out every time and usually preserve your no-hitter.

Also, on infield BOPs, you can just let the ball sit there until the CPU gets halfway between bases, and then he's dead meat. Anyone else remember how awesome this works?

Yeah, the computer isn't too savvy on the basepaths.  Plenty of techniques to get them out...

i like the old get a guy near the wall closest to third base, have the third baseman run toward second, then chuck the ball into the wall by throwing to third.  the other guy is right there to pick the ball up and throw it to third when the runner gets there.....

You can also use a similar technique on first base and hit the wall....
