Title: pitching...
Post by: yukon90 on 08/03/04, 02:36:49 PM
when me and my buddies play we do the straight ball rules, down and a, or just a....  we keep the same pitcher through the whole game too, no sub's or pinch hitters; that what goes on here?  stealing bases gets a little easy....

then you dont know hte secret to throwing out any baserunner which includes vince most of the time....instead of throwing to second, throw to home with the catcher, since he is behind the plate he throws a hard grounder and its faster than any throw any fielder can make. dont tell your bro, keep it to yourself, he will never steal on you again.

I can safely say that I never heard these particular rules before.  Quite a few straight pitch players here, but why don't you guys ever sub pitchers and players?  Just curious...

becuase they are a bunch of morons. you are missing out on tony armas and jose oquendo's automatic pinch hit homer in his first at bat.

Normally I would let something like this slide, because even though it's moronic, it was a well-intentioned post. But then, I realized that we all, as Dee-Nee members, have not just a right, but a duty to call people out for being dolts. And not pinch-hitting, or subbing pitchers, might be the dopiest thing I've read here since Vitb's last politcal rant.

Next you're going to tell me you people use all-star teams against SF!!!

I use the all star team all the time...so what?

I'm sure you also use the Turbo controller to run the 100m in 4.76 seconds in "Track & Field", too. You cheater.

I don't.  I've never understood the "No All Stars" rule.  There are only 10 friggin' teams on the game, for pity's sake.  Why eliminate 25% of them?

If you had any experience with them, you'd know they are very beatable...in fact, one could argue that Bos, Det, CA are better than AL...

Plus, if you use a "stipulation" with the All Stars, they're extremely beatable.  For example, if NL is playing a non-All Star team, NL is not allowed to use its bench...suddenly, it's a regular team.

i meant that we don't pinch hit for the pitcher when he needs to come out.  we still take out the barret's and grich's of the league, so tony armas isn't deprived of dragging his ass around the bases....   we just keep the same pitcher through the game, didn't realize it was such a stupid idea.......    and det could easily beat the all star teams at least 75% of the time....too many left handers to deal with....

We use all-stars all the time.  This has been covered before.  They're not really the best teams, especially the AL.  NL is arguably the best team, but when you beat them with SL (it does happen,) it's the best feeling in the whole damn world.

Actually, if you eliminate the All Stars you only eliminate 20% of the teams, not 25%.  Education must not be a prerequisite to enter this site.

I think JoeD took the two out of the remaining 8.  And no, education is not a prerequisite to enter this site.  There's plenty of retards on here.

I think it's more like 7.9 seconds, and man it is fun to do.

Actually, the best thing to do is use the Turbo when doing the hurdles, and don't even worry about trying to jump. Just smash through every hurdle like you're Berzerker, and still set a new WR by three seconds...

And don't forget about jumping off the Power Pad for the long jump on World Class Track Meet..
