I was playing a game online against BreadInspector and my outfielder threw the ball into the stands. Has anyone else ever experienced this?
Yep, fairly common occurrence. If the ball is by the wall in LF, hit b to run with the ball before throwing it. That will avoid the inside the park HR.
Welcome elway! Turd is right... Also, you can often find a spot in the wall to run in and get it - typically in a straight horizontal line a little below the ball
I've never done this.
You guys must be horrible at this game.
hey elway, you know how when you go to throw the ball to early and it bops off your guy? isnt that the worst?

you obviously don't play much RBI.
hey you know when you tell your kid if they don't have anything nice to say don't say nothing at all????????? wow rbi masters sorry if i offended you
You'll learn soon enough that it's expected to bust everyone's chops here.
And to post lots of pictures of naked chicks.
wow, people being dicks to a new poster. no wonder we get about one new poster a year these days.
I thought it was clean fun.
Also, I was directing my initial post more at Gantry than anyone.
if theres dickery going on i fail to see it

I agree. I didn't see anything mean at all.
Actually, while people don't exactly roll out the welcome mat here...I dont' think I saw anything above light-hearted grabassing in this thread...most of it was directed at gantry/brookens...
Either way, Elway, it helps to just ignore it...there are some good chaps here and any discussion of the actual game that this website is dedicated to is very much appreciated...
Along the same lines, I believe there's a spot in foul territory in the outfield corner inside the stands that the ball can bounce off of. It's still a foul, so it doesn't affect gameplay, but I always found it odd, since most balls just disappear into the stands when they go there, rather than bouncing around.
I've caught a ball down the line before at the base of the wall, and the game still gave the batter a wallzie.

I don't recall ever seeing this...
I've never seen it either. I have seen a catch made near the dugouts, but the ball was called "Foul" because the umpire thought the ball was out of play
Yep, that one is somewhat common. Then we agree, Stock is a filthy liar
I feel we've had this conversation before. (http://forums.dee-nee.com/index.php?topic=46.msg92441;topicseen#msg92441)
Looks like nobody corroborated your story back then.
Stock - a no good liar since at least 2005

This is one of OctoFranco's favorite things.
And I know exactly what Stock is talking about, I've seen it happen more than a few times.
fake

It's kind of like when your fielder "catches" the ball near the stands, but they still call it foul since the game thinks it went out of play.
Looked exactly the same except the game thought it was a home run rather than a foul ball out of play.
I understand what you are saying, but since I've never seen it happen it's obvious that you are lying.
HUBRIS'D!!!
I have not played rbi since I was like 12 years old so seeing that I am 34 22 years seems like a long time but I will get better. I dont take offense Its all in clean fun. I think I'll just have to pull the welcome mat out from my @ss where it was stuck....lol and to answer your question YES the ball has bounced off my player which I think is considered an error right?
What the fuck is wrong with you, you stopped playing when you were 12?
Elway, they are referring to the "early throw bop" that is most definitely a myth, but yet remains an enchanted part of RBI history on these boards...

No shit, that's about when you should have been starting to play.

brah, my technical research data has proven that it is not just myth.
Next thing you know some genius reading these boards is going to say you CAN'T make your guys run faster by quickly pressing the 'B' button.
you have to alternate A and B like track and field
I had a friend who was so convinced about the "B" button making your guys run faster, that he bought a turbo controller just to play RBI with. Even when it clearly did not do anything, he still really thought his runners were much faster.
Your friend sounds dumb... was it defen?
Was it Strassy?
brookens is so all up in strassys kitchen right now!
Strassy should have bought pwnage insurance.
I couldn't afford the premiums. too much pwnage in my history, imo
maybe no-fault pwnage coverage is more your cup of tea.
I don't think Strass lives in a no-fault state.
Yup, it's the-mexicans-fault state. HIYO!!!

Defen -- you seem to have finished your post mid-thought. Please finish.
