Title: The Turnpike
Post by: MNTwinkies on 09/25/02, 01:14:56 PM
When I play R.B.I, I strictly play curve style, however, I have noticed many websites saying they play straight pitch sometimes.  I am skeptical of this method of gameplay, however, do hardcore players like you guys play straight pitch along with curve?  The only circumstance in which I use a straight pitch is when the pitcher is batting.  This has become a rule with the people I play with here at UW madison.  The terminology we use for the straight pitch to the pitcher is "the turnpike."  Anybody else play this way?

My friends always play "over the plate". You can throw whatever you want as long as the pitch is a strike. No real penalties exist for throwing a knuckleball as the third strike--it's just frowned upon. Usually an eye for an eye rule exists on that one. This is just the way we've played it for years.
