Title: New Glitch I found
Post by: jok123 on 12/12/11, 11:10:24 PM
Sorry if this glitch has been covered already, but I had to tell someone and it sounds like you all might care. I've played roughly 8000 games of RBI baseball in my lifetime and I've never seen this glitch before.

I had a guy on third base with the pitcher up. The pitcher bunts up the third base line, and the runner heads home and scores as the pitcher reaches first base. Then the ball rolls foul. The pitcher is still up to bat, the runner back on third, but the run counted. Ever see this happen before? I looked through your lists of names for glitches, but couldn't find this one. pretty weird.

sorry to burst your bubble, but pretty sure that's been reported before.

have you ever seen a pitcher homerun?  most believe it's a myth.

Yes I think it has been reported before, but I'm not positive.  Why do I think this happened to us one time?  Man my brain really sucks...

How does the slow ass pitcher make it to first base before the ball goes foul?
That alone would be rare enough.

My guess is the third baseman came straight in and the shortstop took a fkn pisspoor angle and the ball got my him.

What I was referring to has nothing to do with the fielders.
Just saying it would be difficult to bunt a ball where the batter gets to first base before the ball is ruled foul.

This sounds famliar, although I don't think I've ever personally seen it.

Why didn't you say so the?

Difficult but doable...  [/momjoke]

third baseman was covering third because I also had a runner on second. You know how sometimes a ball hit near the foul line has a tendency to arc left or right and end up travelling almost horizontally across the screen? This bunt was just that. It was a slow roller that would have been a little to the right of the third baseman, but veered left and passed just in front of the third base bag. I think this curved  path increased the total travel distance before going foul, allowing the pitcher more time to reach first.

It was also not a legit bunt. It was sort of a swing that I botched and ended up being a bunt. The ball almost completely died off the bat.

Sorry to report a known glitch, but I was pretty pysched to see it.

also I've never seen the pitcher out of the park homerun. I'm positive that's a myth. I've never come even remotely close to hitting one.

I'm pretty sure I've seen the guy score from 3rd for the +1.  I know it was reported here, still good to have the discussion.

ok well here's another one. this one is more subtle, but happens more frequently. Sometimes the computer will mess up on the score card you see between innings. the most recent example was a few weeks ago when I was playing a friend. I scored one run on two doubles and he scored one run on a homer. At the end of the first inning my hit total was 1, his was 2.

I've seen this happen at least five times.

I've never noticed that.  Did you have 1 hit and 2 doubles?  Did one of your doubles get thrown out advancing to 3rd?  Any out during the AB removes the hit.

They were two actual doubles on two outs. The next batter I had up struck out leaving a runner on second. I had five at bats, was credited with two doubles, but only one hit.

My friend hit a solo homerun with trammel to start the game and then struck out three times. He had four at bats, three Ks one homerun and two hits.

weird, it seems to have somehow assigned one of the hits to the wrong team
