Hey guys, just registered so apologies if this is common knowledge or has already been answered, but when could one expect the 2012 RBI rom to be available?
I was the one who normally put out yearly releases, but I'm taking the year off. I dint think anyone has stepped up put one out. No one has approached me as of late to take on the task...
I was planning on doing it.
Had no idea I needed Turd's permission though.
It's ok, Attezz, next time please just ask me next time instead of just assuming you have my permission...
If someone wanted to ACTUALLY do it, they'd need to get setup with my editor and all that. No one has stepped up...thus, no 2012 ROM.
Unless we use one of the other editors.
NO!
YOU HAVE TO USE TURD'S EDITOR!
NO EXCEPTIONS!
OTHERWISE IT WONT BE OFFICIAL!

I guess technically, this is true since there are no other editors capable of editing the 30 team ROM. I guess someone can do it manually, but that would take a millenium.
I have been talking with pmeth offline. In my discussions, I reiterated that I didn't want to do a ROM release by myself. But, as baseball season approaches, I think it'd be cool to have a ROM to play. Thus, I setup my old ROM collaborator website that the dee-nee community used to make the 1987 30-Team ROM.
If people are interested in "sponsoring" a few teams and can agree on somewhat consistent rating structure, it might be cool to have a community-based RBI ROM. I've had enough people approach me to ask if I was going to do a 2012 one...maybe there is still some interest out there. We did the online collaboration thing with Tecmo and it worked out well.
Let me know, and if I get enough interest, I'll setup some accounts for people. In the meantime, pmeth might make a nice editor for people to use after the community-based ROM is released for people to tweak to their own personal styles.
People on dee-nee are lazy, if nothing else people can pick a team they know and do their best to give ratings. Might get more feedback if they simply have to post their lineups and power/contact/speed numbers.
True story. Either way, that works. Maybe I'll post a new thread for that...
