Post by: ultimate7 on 08/13/04, 11:26:28 AM

the Cubs this year, joined the big league team on Tuesday and will work with

It just means he will start coaching the cubs, right?  Why is this so shocking?

the way it sounds to me is that he currently is the baserunning coach and is joining the roster as a player...makes more sense what you said though

Sorry, I should have copied the entire article, he is a roving minor league baserunning instructor with the Cubs, he was in the Dugout this weekend with the ML team and may be there the rest of the season, but only as a coach, yes.

They've started to show more of an effort to get baserunning involved in the game.  Right after they brought Coleman up to the big leagues, they stole three bases in one game. (two by patterson, one by lee)
