Title: 80s Greats ROM
Post by: Ryno23 on 08/16/04, 09:32:54 PM
Here is my first attempt at a ROM.  I took teams I watched as a kid and did an 80s Greats roster for each:

Chicago Cubs
St Louis Cardinals
Atlanta Braves
Cincinnatti Reds
New York Mets
New York Yankees
Oakland Athletics
Detroit Tigers
Kansas City Royals

I took the players best year from the 80s for their stats.  Pitchers were kinda hit and miss.  I'll be honest and say I didn't get the exact ERA's (as you'll see).

I put Rupperto as a PH for the Tigers. . . . he's bad ass on this ROM as well.

Enjoy and give me feedback.  I really enjoyed doing the ROM.

If you like it well enough, give me a yell for some online action.  It has the 2 player pause option and the choose same teams option.

At the moment, chat is no different than my house.

I'm there by myself, playing with myself, wishing someone would join me.

wow I just played it so awsome. Only thing is maybe you could have had Jay Johnstone on the bench seeing as that guy could sub for anyone. I thought the Red Baron was awsome so was Lee Smith. Made me think about the summers I spent watching the cubbies on WGN after we had moved back to the city. At the time I had no freinds seeing as it was summer and no school I remember just watching game after afternoon game. I love you cubs I miss the penguin and the sargent the bull the ryno and fans hooking those horns for keith.

I haven't added the numbers yet, but I Know the Cubs are the only team with all starters in doulbe digits for homers. . . . . but it appears they are the weakest home run hitting team.

The game I played with them, Raffy hit 2 homers, Dawson hit one, and everyone one else hit singles and doubles like nobody's business!

I haven't looked at the ROM yet to see if he's even on it, but I really think that you should modify the crowd graphics to add the Shawon-O-Meter.

And is Bo Jackson so slow that he can't really run out of the box because of his hip replacement surgery?  :D

Title: Homers
Post by: _13eoWuLF__ on 08/17/04, 11:02:20 AM
Ryno I played them and the Hawk had 3 homers Sandberg had 2 including a opp feild lol you know ryno never did that mnay times, and Jody hit 1 the Penguin alsop went yard. I think play them a few more times just to see maybe they had a bad game. BtW I played the computer as well so maybe that had something to do with it. But anyways our cubbies smashed up St. Louis 14 to 2. The Red Baron pitched 8 innings and Lee closed but gave up the two runs. I was suprised the Baron went 8 innings but he ws solid and had good movement on his stuff.

I'm sure  I missed some Lefty / Righty stuff.  I'll get 'em changed as time permits.

I put all starting pitchers as 45 or 50 stamina.

I bet Ryno didn't more than 10 opposite field homers his entire career.
