I think high BOP numbers are going to make the games really fun to watch. I haven't checked out the '13 group's numbers, but the numbers for the '87 league aren't that far out of line with the orignal game, other than the Cunts.

I was pretty shocked that they didn't pinch hit for Robinson (I think it was) to lead off the top of the ninth when you still had a RP in reserve.

I don't think I did have a RP left. Stanley pitched before Robinson, IIRC.

Raines' was a cycle on four hits, which is even more impressive.
Raines has responded well to being dropped in the lineup. The Cunts' hitting really came together last game.

My team was similar; I thought they'd pinch hit for the pitcher in the top of the 9th up by 4, since that is the guideline for when to bring in a relief pitcher, but apparently the PH logic is different somehow. I need to brush up on that thread of ultimate's where he figured it all out.

The limited number of pitchers makes that difficult in games this high-scoring. Most starters are gassed in the third inning (I took the highest-stamina starter, and he's still throwing 30 MPH meatballs before he comes out), and relievers are lucky to make it through a whole inning at regular speed.

The '87 squad ran themselves into a TON of unnecessary outs on the basepath.

I was pointing out that, while stamina-based subs make a lot of sense in theory, it's hard to do in practice because we score so many runs that they throw a lot of pitches, dropping their stamina down (especially for #1 starters and relievers) early enough that there aren't enough pitchers available if they're taken out right then and there.
