I know the starting lineups on the home page show player nicknames but what other ones do you guys use? Also do you guys use any catch phrases for certain hitters? Some of these are from my childhood and others are more recently since I actually found another human in real life that plays this game. Most of these are dumb and/or make no sense.
Rich Gedmen - Chet Gedmen

Mookie Wilson - "M-M-M-M-Mookie!"
Gary Carter - Dead

Poor Gary Carter
I had not thought of the name "Carnell Lake" in many years.
Nor had I, quality player
I, too, call Gedman Che t(for Chet Stedman).
I run across far too few "Rookie of the Year" references these days, too.

I think we've agreed on this but Rookie of the Year is far inferior to Little Big League in terms of bad kids baseball movies

a couple of my friends are frequently talking about some actor/celeb/character in a show or movie that I've never heard of whose name is Steadman or something close. I always mention that Chet Steadman would be a much better topic of discussion.

I need to rewatch it, I suppose, but I don't think of Little Big League as a "bad" movie (although I do agree it was much better than Rookie of the Year).
Never got into either movie, I feel like I was a little too old for them

I demand to know who is running the metal king account...
Rookie of the Year, pretty good movie. Thomas Ian Nicholas, lucky bastard, got to co-star in the American Pie series later and "bang" Tara Reid.

I haven't seen the floater pitch since Scuffy McGee!
Funky buttlovin! I just found myself a new Willie McGee nickname.
Haha.
I also love the original Bad News Bears, the updated one with Billy Bob Thornton, Field of Dreams, Major League I and II, The Sandlot, The Babe, and 61* (my favorite).
Who the hell does he "strikeout" in Rookie of the Year......i think it's Bonds, Pedro Guerrero, and Bonilla. LOL they should have had John Kruk play Hedo......
Billy Butler who plays for the A's is nicknamed "Country Breakfast"
when it starts getting salty we say "anything can happen here in the R.B.I." you might get an early lead on someone and they get discouraged, you gotta remind them that late game pitchers love to give it up.

It does not blow my mind, but I'd definitely never realized it before.
It was pretty much the first thing I noticed when I watched American Pie.
