Donnie Moore, who else?
Puckett
Dave Smith
Man, don't remember that - my brain sucks.
Uribe
Gary Carter
Had no idea Dave Smith was dead. Was it mentioned on here before?
We may already have a thread like this (and we probably do), but in any case, the first post should be updated with a list of dates on which said RBIer died.
Bump.
Gwynn
Would like to get a full list for my update of the Heaven vs Hell ROM
Gary Carter
Tony Gwynn
Donnie Moore
Kirby Puckett
Dave Smith
Jose Uribe
We should start an over/under on the date when the number of dead RBIers matches the number of alive ones.

Being in the HOF and on RBI seems to increase the odds that one will go teats up earlier than expected
I did a quick count and got eleven HOFers in the game who are still alive. Kinda spooky really
Looks like I've got my Dead Pool list for next year...

Here is the file with all RBIers, I wish I had compiled more data into this, but that'll be another project now. I do intend to update wiki sometime soon.
Other notes data from google/wikipedia, and I typed it all in for all 284 RBIers (320 less 36 in both versions). So it is certainly likely that some typos will be found.
Ernie Banks
Holy shit, Dave Bergman died:

I am guessing he is now Strassy's favorite player. He was drafted by the Cubs out of HS, opted instead to attend Illinois State:

I just went in and fixed up the Heaven Vs Hell ROM. Added the dead RBIers. Puckett and Donnie Moore slot into their roles on the Hell squad. The rest gain access to Heaven since a quick wikipedia scan showed no reason for Hell.
Pitchers can now MASH - no more freebie outs.
Attached the fixed version here. Need it to replace the current version on dee-nee's alternate league ROM section. Gantry - can you assist?
Has anyone ever beat Heaven or Hell?
This has likely been mentioned elsewhere. Bumping this thread anyhow as sadly Bill Buckner passed away.

Bob Watson on the Arcade Astros passed away yesterday

That leaves exactly 100 living Arcade players and 150 NES.

Bruce Sutter
Gaylord Perry, that's 3 Arcade RBIers in the past 2.5 months
Sal Bando, a lot of the Arcade guys are starting to get to that age

Will this site still exist for someone to post the death of the last living RBIer?

I figure this site ain't going anywhere for awhile, will I outlive all the RBI'ers? Who is the youngest, probably someone born in 66-67 or so?

My initial guess is Ellis Burks
Born in 64, I better keep eating my oatmeal and blueberries so I can outlast him.
Charlie Kerfeld was born in 1963 but I have a feeling Burks will outlive him by quite a bit
Made my first edit on the RBI Wiki in ages adding Robby Thompson's DOB and years played. 8)
November 64 for Gooden, I like my odds of outliving him.
Benito Santiago is the youngest, currently 58 born March 1965

Luis Tiant 🙁
I think he should be in the Hall of Fame, TBH.
Even now that he's dead?
Especially now that he can't enjoy it.
Just realized that Del Crandall passed in 2021 and missed it
Actually I have failed miserably, Frank Robinson was never added, Pete Rose
If my count is accurate now, only 81 arcade players still alive
On a happier note, Happy 75th Birthday to Enos Cabell
I believe Tiant was fairly prominent in Bill Lee's autobiography, although it has been a very long time since I've read that (I got it for Christmas when I was like ten, which in retrospect was probably much too young to have read Bill Lee's autobiography).

Ah. TJ and Dravecky were both conservative guys. Baylor was not very scandalous, although I just remembered that I read Ball Four in 7th grade. I should re-read it as I am sure a ton flew over my head.
I did a book report on Mark Fidrych's biography once in grade school. I found his mailing address in some baseball card magazine a few years later and sent him a card to sign as well as the book report, thinking maybe he'd sign that too or something.
He sent me the signed card back but kept the book report.
it was probably on his fridge for several months
I'm assuming he talked to it, imploring it to get a better grade.

Hrbek was and is my all-time favorite Twin. But I first really got into following baseball by watching Cubs games on WGN... I played second base in tee ball and little league, and the Cubs' best player was their second baseman. Even as I followed the Twins more, especially after living in Minnesota, no one ever passed Ryno as my baseball hero.
Finally updating for Davey Johnson passing about a week ago. I think he is also the NES Mets manager.
