Upgrading to Windows 8.1 so my main machine is going down for a bit. Since this machine hosts the Linux VM in which the forums reside, that will go down as well. I have no idea how long it will take, you'll be fine.
But what if I'm not fine...
Just picture Gantry's computer as a little boy and he's punching it over and over.
Paging BDawk
Tried to update my video card driver, bluescreened Windows 8.1 - had to manually repair the databases. Sorry about that, back to normal
And I'm going to try again in a few hours, but I'll shut down the Linux VM first.
Sounds like a twink film.
would watch
OK 0-2 on the video driver upgrade front, guess I live with it
I lied, found some beta drivers, GOING DOWN AGAIN BOYS
Well that barfed too, forced a system restore. Not a fan of AMD's drivers, not a fan at all. Guess I'm done fucking with it this morning. Back to work
And apparently that system restore fixed my video issues, so I'm done with this fucking guy. Carry on with your lives people, carry on with your lives...

Did it get any on your dick?
I'd like to slip in a software update before the Series tonight. Might take things down at, say, 5:30 central. Shouldn't take more than a couple minutes. Then I can debug while I sit on the couch yelling at the Cardinals.
Looks like there's a 2.0.6 update - that what you are talking about? They usually take a minute to install via the Package Manager, but you are fully welcome to tackle.
While we're at it - know where to sign up to get updates about the releases? I used to get an email many accounts ago, can't find the proper place to join now.
Yeah, the 2.0.6 update should be quick. I want to replace the mostly-unused FlashChat mod too, might explore that.
I still get e-mails about updates, that's how I found out about this one. I don't think there's a specific list, you just sign up for their forum and make sure "receive forum announcements" is set in your profile.
OK I'll check that out - I think I *may* have hand removed some of the Flashchat stuff in the php files when I was cleaning up. Probably should have told you, but thought it was long dead. Good luck...
Yeah, the problem is now I can't uninstall it. Keeps telling me the package was removed, but obviously it's still there, usual tricks like reinstalling then uninstalling are not working. I'll uninstall manually, will just need to browse the installer for changes made and undo them.
I think I couldn't uninstall it either, which is why I just hand removed stuff when I saw it in case it was causing issues with the https update. Good luck is all I can say...
Got myself on the email notify list for SMF announcements, should have done that ages ago.
We're back, sorry, everyone hug Gantry for making nightly backups.
...just added weekly and monthly backups for the files as well since they were overwriting the previous ones.
SQL backups are daily/weekly/monthly with multiple copies. Maybe crashplan pro is next for offsite, lots of potential history to lose
All this talk about packages and slipping things in has me a little hot under the collar.
Somewhere near 10ish, going to get rid of this router and change my IP address. Expect downtime, for some people with cached DNS maybe even into tomorrow am. You'll live
I'm freaking out.
RELAX
I can't man. My head is spinning with the possibilities now.
This is such bullshit
I say we start our own forum....that never goes down...

Doing it soon. You may be able to run "ipconfig /flushdns" from a command prompt if you can't get on, though it likely won't help. Take the night off
You will rue this decision. You have doomed us all.
You goddamn motherfucker
Guy wants a million posts but can't keep his junk website online.
I REGRET NOTHING, smell ya later
AND WE'RE BACK!!!!
Well, I'm back - you poor bastards have your DNS cached for awhile. Bulkregister has no user-adjustable TTL, thanks Obama!
Try trading it some nudes to see if it will work.
Back quicker than I thought, Kane
Cache this, dns bitch
:)
I would say the router migration was a success! You guys?
I hate it. I hate you.
Thanks!
