Our RBI crew plays quite a bit differently than folks around these forums. We play "anything goes" pitching, as you call it, and Houston is my favorite team.
The "J-Cruise" was born in a landmark match with my roommate (with whom I've been playing RBI for 10 years or so), in which I came back to win 4-3 in the 9th with a single grand slam perpetrated by none other than JCruz. It shook my roommate up so badly that for the next several weeks he would choke whenever Jose was up to bat, and was taken on several mini J-Cruises (lots of doubles, lots of RBIs, particularly Lopes). The J-Cruise became so embarrassing that he started walking JCruz, which was followed by a prideful period where he pitched more or less straight to Cruz, daring me to J-Cruise him. The mind games have settled a bit, but depending on the situation, JCruz at the plate is enough to get people in the room snickering.
I approve of this post. Houston is also my favorite team
Agreed, good stuff.
Fantastic, JCruz rearranging furniture in his head
Houston is second worst , only better than NY
I love Houston. When I play with a team that can actually hit, I almost feel like I'm cheating.
Truer words have never been spoken.
And NY is clearly better than Houston.
I'd definitely take NY over STL
No one can win consistently with NY. They are the absolute worst.
Sounds like some bad RBI players talking
NY has considerably more power than STL or HOU, they are definitely a tier above
No. Fucking. Way.
My favorite team to use is STL, so I can get on board with the use of Houston as a preferred team.
Terrific story, here.
NY isn't great but they're certainly better than Houston. Let's not be stupid.
I prefer Houston's pitchers, and their bats (assuming you bring in Davy Lopes to hit at 1).
Someone told me that JCruz is actually cousins with Tom Cruz
