Here's the lineups I've got so far. I'll be tweaking as spring training goes on, but we're releasing earlier this year so there will be a cutoff. Get your grips and/or projections in asap or I'll be using rotochamp as my base!
I'd throw Joe Kelly in the Sox pitching group instead of Rick P.
I can certainly do so, but he he's listed as the #5 guy at roto...is he expected to be "one of the guys?"
Yes, as is Bucholz.
Thanks, I've swapped Porcello out for Joe Kelly...
For the Twins, Chris Parmelee got released over the winter, and Aaron Hicks looks like he'll be the starting CF again (Santana had that job at the end of last year, but he's a natural shortstop and will be the starting shortstop this season), so he'll need to be added. I can't remember whether you put the starting DH in the starting lineup; if not, then put Hicks 8th and remove Vargas.
Escobar, Pinto, and Nunez are fine as the bench guys; Jordan Schafer will be their fourth outfielder. No power to speak of, but could be an interesting speed guy if you want to put him on the roster in place of Nunez (who will probably be the least-used bench guy).
Pitching staff looks good.
I do put the DH in the lineup...usually I go 1-8 are the actual 1-8 guys, and then the 9th guy goes in the first bench spot. Usually works out well because the 8th inning guy is power-irrelevant...
Okay, then here's my recommended Twins lineup (based largely on their first Spring Training batting order, although Vargas didn't start in that one):
Santana
Dozier
Mauer
Vargas
Hunter
Arcia
Plouffe
Suzuki
Hicks
Pinto
Escobar
Schafer/Nunez
I'd change the Blue Jays lineup to this:
SS Reyes
C Martin
RF Bautista
1B Encarnacion
3B Donaldson
LF Saunders (is going to be back much earlier than expected)
2B Iztrus
CF Pompey
BN Smoak
BN Navarro (for now - I'm guessing he's traded by the start of the season)
BN Pillar
BN Valencia
Thanks fellas, I'll refer to this when I get to your teams...
Do whatever to the Phillies. They'll all suck or get hurt and there's no predicting what the lineup will look like by the all star break
2015KCA
==========
1. Alcides Escobar
2. Alex Gordon
3. Lorenzo Cain
4. Eric Hosmer
5. Salvador Perez
6. Alex Rios
7. Omar Infante
8. Mike Moustakas
9. Kendrys Morales
10. Christian Colon (Carlos Peguero with TEX now)
11. Erik Kratz
12. Jarrod Dyson
-=Pitchers=-
13. Yordano Ventura
14. Jason Vargas
15. Wade Davis
16. Greg Holland

I move that Sandberg be put on the bench as a pinch hitter.
I would take out Scruggs, who won't make the team for the Cards, and put in either Kozma/Ty Kelly.
Here's my best guess for the Tigers as of now:
2015DET
==========
1. Anthony Gose
2. Ian Kinsler
3. Miguel Cabrera
4. VMart
5. Yoenis Cespedes
6. JDMart
7. Alex Avila
8. Nick Castellanos
9. Jose Iglesias
10. Rajai Davis
11. James McCann
12. Hernan Perez
-=Pitchers=-
13. David Price
14. Justin Verlander
15. Joakim Soria
16. Joe Nathan
Gose and Davis are looking like a platoon in CF, with Gose playing against righties. McCann has all but won the backup catching job and looks to be the future there. Perez, Romine, and Collins would be the guys to consider for the last bench spot. Perez seems to have a slight edge now from what I have read.
Thanks for all you do. Looking forward to another year of RBI!

C Christian Vasquez just went on 60 DL (likely out for season): http://espn.go.com/boston/mlb/story/_/id/12586362/boston-red-sox-acquire-catcher-sandy-leon-trade-washington-nationals
Drop Vasquez and add in Ryan Hanigan: http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/_/id/28899/ryan-hanigan
Great! I'm onto the batters right now!
Change to my projected lineup: Twins sent Aaron Hicks to AAA. Center field appears to be a platoon between Jordan Schafer and Shane Robinson.
Nationals:
Swap in Michael Taylor for McClouth, and Matt den Dekker for Frandsen (he was cut). Or just swap Taylor in for Frandsen and leave McClouth.
Taylor will start for an injured Span at the beginning of the season, and is the team's 4th outfielder and Interleague DH. He's the real deal and should get a bunch of ABs. I predict he'll be the guy who everybody becomes aware of in the playoffs, sort of like Joe Panik was last season.
Unless you're set on 2 SP and 2 RP for each team, Swap Jordan Zimmermann in for Thornton. Unless you're trying to avoid having both JZmrmn & RZmrmn, I suppose.
Thanks. I have a strict 2sp/2rp system. I'm happy to create one offs with different combos if people desire.
Blue Jays:
Swap out Dirks for Devon Travis, and swap Viciedo out for Kevin Pillar (both Dirks and Viciedo are gone).
Swap out Delabar out for Aaron Loup (Delabar got sent down to AAA, but will certainly get called up or traded sooner rather than later, so that's a judgment call)
Thanks, hope to finish these tonight...
Not sure how much it matters, but the Twins sent down Josmil Pinto and are starting the year with Chris Herrmann as the backup catcher. It's mostly because Pinto missed a week with a concussion, so I'm not sure it's worth swapping Herrmann into Pinto's place on the roster, both because I think Pinto will be up within the month and because Herrmann absolutely cannot hit.
Looks like Ervin Santana is out for 80 games because of some controlled substance
Well if he's not using it, can I have it?

Yeah... he's claiming that he has no idea how it got into his system, so I guess it must have been ghosts or something.
Mike Pelfrey will be taking Santana's spot in the rotation. For RBI purposes, I think the Twins consider Ricky Nolasco their #3 starter, but Kyle Gibson is probably better. Neither are particularly terrific (although Nolasco was a complete disaster last year), so not a big deal which one you pick.
Minor changes to the Tigers lineup from what I posted before. Not a big deal at all, so if things are pretty much set then don't even bother. JD Martinez and Cespedes flop spots at 5th and 6th, and Castellanos and Avila flop spots 7th and 8th. Everything else is good to go. So now it would be this:
2015DET

1. Anthony Gose

3. Miguel Cabrera
4. VMart
5. JDMart
6. Yoenis Cespedes

10. Rajai Davis
11. James McCann
12. Hernan Perez

Turd,
Have you decided on the cover art? (I may have missed that thread).
I'm excited for this year's rom... as always. I'll block out a few days to test out the ROM whenever it becomes available-- my wife and kids can just miss me for a few days as I'm called to a higher purpose.
Guys, I haven't had time to go through and follow all the updates to this thread, but I'm posting what I have for one last once-over now that I have all the players entered. Let me know thoughts and I'll toss this on a ROM for a beta release...
And I had cover art made, but unfortunately we're not allowed to put it on a cart if it has an MLB player on it, so it'll be a different cover design. Sad, I know, but it's the rules!

BOOO! But I understand. Did you get a Cease and Desist letter from MLB, or is this just being careful?
For alt cover art have you considered the red/blue logo you use for your rbi site (http://www.rbibaseball.us/images/mlbrbilogo_small.png)? Or maybe a few of the RBI guys from the game?
Or maybe the original art from the ARCADE game but with an updated title/year?
Or if current MLB guys are unavailable are minor leaguers (they aren't covered by MLB players union)?
Or retired players?
Just some thoughts.
The Beta version is live!! As always, you can download the regular and juiced versions from http://www.rbibaseball.us/
This has only been spot tested and it's really late right now, so please provide any feedback on wonky in-game stuff, players on incorrect teams, etc. We'll go through the same process where we spend about a week on updates before I release the final version.
Enjoy!
Just looking at the ratings. I'd suggest a few changes:
Team data for BOSTON:
Betts Speed up to 129
Pedroia Speed up to 125
Rmirez Speed DOWN to 125
Vctrno Speed up to 128
Napoli Power up to 870
And on NYA I'd drop
Elsbry Speed from 145 to 139
rbibaseball.us site seems to only have the juiced version (though its not labeled as such). Do you mind posting both versions in this (or a new) thread?
Lies!!
I checked earlier and the zip contains both juiced and regular. Check again and let me know...
P.S. If you just try to play the zip file which nestopia supports, it might just be playing whatever .NES file it finds first in the zip. You'll have to extract it to get at the contents.
You called it. I opened the zip file w j-NES and it simply opened the juiced version.

Are the lineups locked in now?
If not, could you swap Span in as Washington's leadoff guy and bench Taylor? Pleeeeze?
Lineups are locked as I sent the final rom to the cart assembler for, well, assembly. I'd potentially make a custom ROM for you but it won't be reflected on the cart if you ordered one.
If the lineups are locked in, does that mean that the version posted on your site is the final version? or does that "Beta" version have a few more edits before its final? Also, nice work on the cover art-- I get why you had to stop using players-- so I think the graphics you used were in the tradition of RBI. For those that haven't seen the cover art, maybe you could post it in this thread? Anyway, good work all around!
The final rom will be released. I haven't gotten to doing that yet. I'll post the cover art soon.
Turd, looking at your site I noticed the original rom with all the teams from that era. Are all those rosters based off 1987?
The does the rom you have posted for 2015 have juiced computer defense?
Hey TBT, long time no talk! I hope life is treating you welll...
I have included both the juiced CPU and the regular CPU on the website...as for the 1987, that was a project we did a while back that continued on the original game by adding in the missing teams. It was a big Dee-Nee collaboration. Like the original, we tried to take the best teams from either 1986 or 1987 for criteria on what year to include.

any update on the final rom (and player stats txt file) or the cover art?
Remember, there's no fancy cover art this year, the pic that is displayed on the RBI page shows the label...
I'll be pushing out the final ROM and text file this weekend!
Got the rom loaded on the SD media launcher this weekend...thanks!
