Title: dee-nee.com updates for 9/13/2004
Post by: Gantry on 09/13/04, 12:44:49 AM

Made a huge update to the RBI Baseball Hall of Shame page, with 19 new players added to the list. We are now at over half the RBI'ers and have more to process. A special thanks to fightonusc for providing a buttload of the entrires. Players added in the last few days - Doyle Alexander, Wally Backman, Kevin Bass, Steve Bedrosian, George Bell, Juan Berenguer, Bert Blyleven, Bob Brenley, Glenn Davis, Gary Gaetti, Bill Madlock, Tony Pena, Gary Pettis, Calvin Schiraldi, Mike Scott, Dave Smith, Ozzie Smith, Dickie Thon, Alan Trammel and Mookie Wilson. Phew!

Three more questions/corrections to the FAQ:

   * What does a player's contact rating do?
   * Are certain positions faster in the field?
   * Are subs whose last name begin with "H" more clutch?

Some much-needed additions there. Still have a long way to go before the FAQ is up-to-date, but I'm getting there...

Added two terms to the RBI Glossary - Circle Jerk and F-Bomb. Don't worry, both entries are safe for work...

And finally, a music review - Rx Bandits - The Resignation. From here on out, I plan to do a music/book review everytime I add content to the front page. Especially need to get more book reviews out there, my lazy ass isn't reading much these days. For all the great things TIVO has added to my life, it definitely has cut short on my reading time. I typically watch a recorded show now instead of reading right before bed, gotta change that up...

Gantry, the name is Steve Mathie. Best RBI player in the state of Wisconsin.  Funny glitch happened to me today while playing the National League with St. Louis.  I made the rule that I had to bunt with every player all game and pitch them meat.  So my pitcher is on 3rd with 1 out.  Coleman bunts down the 1st base line.  Coleman got to first before Tudor got home but by the time they both reached their respective bases, the ball was still fair, then went foul at the last second. Tudor crossed the plate and the score flashed as the crowed cheered.  Only the run didnt count and Tudor was put back on third. Coleman still batting. Maybe you have seen this many times, I thought it was wierd. Drop me a line man.
