Last night we watched MLB unveil their 10 most memorable moments. I am curious to see how the forum would vote on there 10 most memorable RBI moments. Here's my list. Let me know what you think.
10. brett 3000 hits
9. gywnn 3000 hits
8 Boggs 3000 hits
7. Clemens 5th cy young
6. Nolan Ryan 7 no-no's
5. ripken 2131 straight games
4. Mr. October 3 hr in W.S.
3. Jack Morris pitches 10 shutout innins in 91' W.S.
2. Gibson HR off Eckersly
1. Buckner's error
Its a good list, I'd be hard pressed to argue with any of those choices....Still I'd like to see the George Brett pine tar incident on there.
GDAVIS........GREAT CALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That completely slipped my mind. I wonder what other moments i left out. That has to go on the list somewhere.
How about Lenny Dykstra getting busted for DUI, Donnie Moore offing himself, John Kruk returning from testicular cancer, Big Mac breaking the HR record, Canseco admitting he was on 'roids, Michael Jack's 500th, Hrbek cheating on 1st base in the World Series, Keith Hernandez on Seinfeld, Dave Henderson's HR off Donnie Moore in game 5 in 1986 ALCS, Strawberry gets busted with coke and a hooker.
In no particular order
i thought about making a list like that. You can add three more for canseco. The homerun bouncing off is head, whne he blew out his arm pitching, or beating his wife.
How about the top 94 most unmemorable moments as in the last 94 seasons the Cubs have been eliminated either mathmatically in the season or in the playoffs. :'( 2003 is their year though.
Good list sucka, but I would take out the 3000 hit memories because there are too many RBI'ers who did it. If I had to pick one I would say Boggs because he hit that digner and kissed the plate. A few replacements thanks to the other posts:
- George Brett Pine Tar Incident
- Donnie Moore suicide
- Big Mac's Drive for 62
That's a quality 10...
How about Bob Ojeda aka "The Skipper" for his expertise in driving boats at night.
Or Vince Coleman aka "The Firecracker" for throwing a firecracker at that baby.
Gantry a Hall of Shame might be in order!
GPines.....great knowledge on the odjeda and coleman call. GREAT KNOWLEDGE!
how about Kevin Mitchell's barehand grab (circa 1987???).
that was a "nice grab".
speaking of kevin mitchell, you could include his infamous "putting the Cincinatti, OH Old Country Buffet out of business" feat during the 1993 season. ;)
I also remember another incident, and I think it was Kevin Mitchell. I belive he put himself on the DL by straining a muscle while vomiting. ...
A Hall of Shame would be a GREAT idea, keep the incidents coming. Definitely need a wife/woman beater category...
Didn't Boggs get arrested for hitting a flight attendant? It's a little hazy, but I remember an incident like that. I also remember something like him hitting his ex-wife. (allegedly)
