I think the folks who do the Tecmo Bowl leagues also have had leagues for RBI, although I'm not 100% positive of that. They have a website at http://www.tecmobowlleague.com/ and the sign-up page has their Discord and mentions a specific emulator they use.
We've never run actual online leagues or tournaments here, but there has been online play (I have only dabbled once and it was probably close to 20 years ago at this point, so my personal knowledge is pretty useless). The Tecmo guys lurk here occasionally so they might eventually see this, although you're probably best served to try and message them directly to see if I'm remembering correctly that they also do (or have done) RBI.

Thanks for chiming in Beastmode! How long as said Discord been around? I wonder if they'd want me linking that from the RBI FAQ, not that it would drive much (if any) traffic.
We've been doing online RBI leagues now for about 2 years+ consistently. Usually a season is over 2 to 3 months depending on what we are doing. We do a draft league from OG players and add created guys as well. One of our staples that we've been using is having a "Steroid" player. It's someone that has been roided that nobody knows except the user and the rom builder. Always a fun wrinkle to find out who's got boosted stats like Ozzie Smith is all of a sudden faster and hits with more power!
We run anywhere from 10-20 guys a season. We have a pickup game channel in there as well. Competition is crazy good! We stream alot of our games. My discord handle is tecmo ninja. My twitch is https://www.twitch.tv/tecmo_ninja/videos. There's some recent games uploaded there.

We also play with using only 3 pitchers. Only 1 starter allowed per game. Can use in any order so you have to stretch those pitchers out to not be throwing meatballs at the end of the game! And also games aren't 15 innings long :D

I'd like to think it would be completely fine to link it, they are always looking for more players in the league.
Got Mike set up tonight to play :) just need to find him and adapter to play games with!
