Title: Confuse-A-Catcher?
Post by: Felonious Gunk on 09/24/04, 05:59:42 PM
I played a bit of RBI last night, and two things odd happened to me.  First was the name of this thread: I was playing NY vs Houston with a runner on third.  After my hitter popped out deep, I made a run for it.  The outfielder threw to the catcher and I doubled back.  Then the catcher did something REAL odd: he ran in between first and second bases and KEPT going.  He never even threw the ball, either.  Dunno if he went to the wall, since I ran in for the score.  That ever happened to anyone?

The second odd thing was I hit an inside-the-park homer with McDowell.  It was one of those slow rollers that the outfielders seem to always misplay.

And when I played today, I made a few overthrows to first, BUT I made the force out at third when I finally got the ball.

So, is the running catcher a new phenomenon a new thing?

Funy thing is, I tried to run that way with my catcher wouldn't go that way!  So I don't know HOW the hell the computer did it.  Further proof Houston sucks if the catcher doesn't wanna make the out.
