I was bored the other night and flipping through the channels when i came across my favortite simpsons of all times... you know the one where burns brings in all the rbi legends to fill his softball team.
don mattingly and the sideburns
ozzie smith and his sight seeing
roger clemens as a chicken (how fitting)
darryl strawberry... the only ringer that shows for the game
jose canseco saving the lady and all her shit from the fire
wade boggs getting knocked out at moe's by barney
then the non rbi'ers griffey, sax and world champion angels manager, mike scioscia.
for the life of me, i cant remember who the third baseman was... for some reason i want to say mike schmidt.
the highlite of the episode is homer watching his fat fly in slow motion as he crushes one of his many blasts.
gotta love matt groening.
I think Boggs was at 3B.
duh, thats it... what was his reason for missing the game?
Didn't Barney punch him out when they were arguing over who England's greatest Prime Minister was?
I thought the funniest one was Griffey Jr. OD'ing on the nerve tonic. He ended up with a huge noggin'.
fancy that, wade boggs in a bar... thats odd.
i liked griffey with the "severly swollen jaw"
i also thought burns suspending mattingly for having sideburns even though he was sporting a mohawk was hilarious.
easily the greatest show ever...it gets the nob over cheers and sienfeld.
Does anyone know where you can get a copy of that episode? VHS tape, DVD, or even over the net?
Didn't they release the second and third seasons on DVD?
I think that episode is from one of those seasons.
Oh, yeah. Try downloading it from Kazaa. That has a lot of crap.
That episode was in season 3. Season 2 was just released, so I would expect season 3 to be released in the next couple of months.
Ok, Thanks!
I found the song off of that episode on Kazaa, it's great ;D
i think that in reality, griffey put too much of the nerve tonic in his ass...he has, pound for pound, the biggest caboose in all of sports...its dumbfounding
too bad neither he or his ASS has done anything since being traded to cincinnati. the guy might be well served to return to the american league.
Deadspin's fantastic article about the episode (article is 2 years old, but I'd never seen it):

nice find, ult
Growing up, there was this pier all the neighborhood kids would jump off into the ocean during the summer. Depending on the tide, the jump was anywhere between 5-20'. During low tide you could do more creative jumps however the urban legend of the pile of bicycles waiting to impale you at low tide was always a concern. I'm getting carried away, what I wanted to say is that my friends and I created the "Ozzie Smith" jump where you would scream the whole way down until right before the water where you would act like you were taking photograph and say "ooooh".
