Has this ever happened to anyone?
I was playing a nice relaxing game last night and I was totally caught off guard by this play. I guess I must have held the bat halfway for a check swing and the ball rolled all the way to the right field wall and I was able to get an inside the Park HR w/ Krukow. Very strange occurence.
This happens a lot against the CPU
oh wow I thought it was me. That is the first time for me.
It just happened in one of our fantasy games. Frankie V turned the tide of the game.
happens often enough.
I've had this happen many times against the cpu, who I'm unfortunately forced to play against for my RBI fix (though I might start playing online soon as I have a stable internet connection and have just found out that other people still actually play this game).
In fact, against the cpu, you can "bunt homerun" with a pitcher better than any other player, precisely because they have a low power which gives them a chance to bunt a ball just fast enough to not be picked up by any of the (inane) fielders (as they all have to move one direction), but still slow enough to not immediately get picked up by an infielder who isn't the pitcher...and slow enough to allow you to run all the bases by the time the ball absurdly reaches deep into the outfield off of your bunt.
Thank you. I've hit literally hundreds of bunt home runs with the pitcher. Unless it's one of a few specific situations, I *ALWAYS* do a three-quarters bunt with the pitcher against the CPU. You probably have about one chance in four of pulling it off if you do it right. As opposed to about a 96% chance of making an out or a double play if you just swing away. Bunting is definitely the better call.
