First let me start off that I do have some idea on how this is done.
Technically inclined people (you Nightwulf) please add your comments.
I'm going to be porting the Overstuffed ROM back to the actual cartridge and have a few questions. Since I'm going to need a bigger EEPROM (i.e. 256or 512k), will it still be possible consdering how the memory mapper works? Is there a particular cartridge/game, with a larger EEPROM base that would allow it if a regular RBI cartridge won't allow the mapping? would it be easier just to extract the original ROM from the cartridge and they go through and alter the stats on the HEX level.
Right now I plan on using Nightwulf's Editor, loading it onto a 256k EEPROM, and then making the new memory map.
If I'm missing an important part, or anyone has tips, let me know
Greg
I have no clue, but good luck, it would be cool if you could get it to work.
I'm really not sure how you'd go about doing this, and I'm not sure that anyone else here does. Your best bet might be to ask at Membled Messageboards (http://nesdev.parodius.com/cgi-bin/wwwthreads/wwwthreads.pl).
