Title: Newbie here
Post by: ChiliDavis on 11/09/04, 11:45:30 PM
I stumbled upon this great site via the msg board at gamefaqs.  Whoever put this together rocks.

I've been playing RBI since it first came out.  I still remember the first day I picked it up at Babbage's many years ago.

Anyhow, I don't have a joystick for my computer and was wondering what the keyboard controls were.  I will definitely pick up a joystick now that I know I can play this game.  Specifically the ROMs.  Thanks guys, this is AWESOME!!

Chili, you shoudl register for the site.  You won't regret it.

As far as the keyboard controls go, I have no fucking idea but I'm sure one of my computer literate dee nee brothers will step up.

And Chili Davis is a top five RBI player, so good call using his name.

Yeah Chili was the shit.  I've always hoped for the ability to update rosters in RBI and Tecmo and now one wish has been granted.

No biggie on the controls.  I'll pick up a joystick soon enough.

Obvioulsy, I've never played online but I'm pumped to get the ball rolling on this and then getting online to play others.

I believe Tecmo Football contributes to a lot of new members.  The Dark Side mentioned the game, as well as you Chili.

I played a hacked version of Tecmo, started looking for hacked versions of RBI, and found dee-nee.

Anyway, welcome Chili.

Welcome, Chili!

If you're using FCEUltra as your emulator, you can customize the controls to whatever you want.  On the menu on the top of the screen, click "Config", select "Input...", and click "Configure" in the box for Port 1.  After that, select the direction or button you want to change with the mouse and press the button on the keyboard you want to use.

I recommend this site for ROMS, but they don't have good hacks (http://www.vimm.net)

Planet Emulation (http://www.planetemu.net/) has a bunch of Tecmo Bowl and Tecmo Super Bowl hacks, although I haven't tried any of them out.  They're on this page (http://www.planetemu.net/php/roms/roms.php3?cat=goodnes-T).

I just did a quick Google search, and this page (http://www.famssu.com/tecmo/) has one updated ROM, as well as well as Tecmo Super Bowl Manager, the editor.

I think you are apologizing too much.  In any case the one I used was Beef's second link.

If given the choice, why would you want to play RBI with anything other than a Nintendo controller?

Just a cheap recomendation.  Get what you want.  This has enough buttons to work snes emulators too.  Just trying to be helpful.

That's not allowed in these forums.
