http://forums.dee-nee.com/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=3878 (http://forums.dee-nee.com/index.php?board=3;action=display;threadid=3878)
i will answer here
Name the RBI player who could have technically been on two Tengen league teams roster?
I know this is wrong, but I remember Dave Henderson was traded to the BoSox in the middle of the season. But I'm almost positive that he was on Seattle before that...
I'll still guess it

Don Baylor - acquired by the Twins at the deadline in '87. He hit a big HR in the Series against the Cards.
I always thought Billy Buckner played for the Angels in '87 (as well as the Sox, obviously), and thus qualifies for this question.
I guess a trip to baseball-reference.com is in order?
Answer is the Met's Howard Johnson
He was on that Tengen Tigers squad as well.

I guess I don't understand the question? HoJo's last year on the Tigers was 1984...
yr age tm games played
1984 23 DET AL 116
1985 24 NYM NL 126
Billy Buckner played for both the Sox and Angels in 1987:
1987 37 BOS AL 75
CAL AL 57
TOT AL 132
And Baylor played for both Bos and Min in '87:
1987 38 BOS AL 108
MIN AL 20
TOT AL 128
???
How about Tom Brunansky.
I thought the Tengen Tigers were the 1984 Championship squad....
I think someone needs to check out dee-nee.com
It has some good information
Brunansky didn't join the Cardinals until '88, when the Twins traded him for Tommy Herr.
I don't think Buckner in '87 counts - the Angels and Red Sox in RBI are supposed to be from '86 (with the exception of Ellis Burks).
what_foul_pole - The teams in RBI are the '86 and '87 division champions, plus some '87 all-stars.
My answer was right.
it's not about being right. it's about avoiding looking like a dumbass.
Yeah, there needs to be some sort of rule, like "You'd better know the right answer when you ask the question."
indeed. this is twice. i understand being new to the forums, but you need to have the right question as well. if there are two answers to the question, specify. fightonusc and i corrected ours within a matter of minutes, and felt bad about it. forum decorum is in order what_foul_pole.
you are my new bitch foul pole.
keep posting stupid shit.

Agreed, this isn't the "Anything Goes" forum, we are trying to increase posting to the RBI forums. So the guy made a couple mistakes, just correct him and hopefully he'll keep posting.

Have you ever been on the real diamond? with dirt and grass?
not the Tengen turf?

we tried this... foul pole repeatedly refused to research the dee-nee.
then, he called me a fag and used the phrase "hatorade."
i am merely responding to his rant.
RBI Pirate:
We welcome you to create a MLB trivia question as it pertains to RBI....
you seem to have a keen ability to reverse look-up your stats online in a quick-fashion (your cubicle must be in 'Storage B')
creating RBI trivia is not that easy. Go ahead.
you have the same post in the other thread
part of the reason for having members is for a productive interaction. when we have to search for poorly researched trivia questions, it defeats the purpose. as for my supposed lack of rbi and baseball knowledge, i am being criticized for a virtue that foul pole considers a flaw -- research. it is not reasonable to have memorized every RBIer's statistic. i do think it's reasonable to have memorized the players themselves.
ultimate, i appreciate your concern, but i know that for some reason you like to criticize things that i post here. that is fine, but i'm not backing down from this. i have put my time into the forum, and foul pole is just a little too naive and uneducated to be calling other people names. you went too far calling me a fag.
and what is with the fascination with Pirate (not Zane Smith Pirate, but ahoy pirate) theme amongst some of you forum members?

I don't have any intention of attacking you, there is no question he went to far and there is no question that you have put in your time. In addition I may have been flat wrong, we may be better without this person, sorry.
Generally, when I criticize you it is all in good fun.

Damn, it worked well, bastard
welcome to the dark side.
foul pole,
you first informed us that Don Baylor had the most career HBPs. this is one of the most widely known statistics in the forum.
you then contributed the "most arrests in a 12-month period following a WS title" for the Mets in the RBIer Records thread. that's just gay.
most career high school teammates to be picked in the major league draft? who the fuck cares? that's not an achievement!
then the notorious 2 trivia questions.
i'm still trying to figure out what "ROY Reggie Jackson" means. I know he was never Rookie of the Year, which is a common meaning for ROY.
and what is this reference to Tengen? refer to the RBI lingo on dee-nee.com
for anyone who is sick of reading these types of arguments, you can just assume that any post in this thread will be an argument. it is a duplicate thread, and i will direct all of my rants here.
