Title: Danny Heep is a Lefty
Post by: Blyleven_No-No on 11/16/04, 10:36:13 AM

Yet he bats right in RBI????  Any explanation for that??  Any other players (excluding switch hitters) who have their stance reversed by the game????

Solid, a new entry to the Glitch page!

http://dee-nee.com/rbi/glossary.shtml#GLITCH

"Batting with George Brett or Rich Gedman - The great George Brett had a stellar career, one of the greatest hitters of his time. But why is batting with him or Gedman instantly worthy of a glitch? Because George Brett was a left-handed hitter, and the RBI programmers, in their infinite wisdom, made him a right-handed batter. Ditto with the left-handed Gedman, who bats righty in RBI..."

Do all these guys throw right handed?  Obviously Brett and Gedman did, not sure about Heep, maybe programmer was just looking at throwing hand.

Of course this isn't true for all, Boggs threw R and batted L and they got him right.

Same with Hrbek.

Also, Rick Sutcliffe batted left but threw right, so he's wrong in the game too.  I'm not sure that RBI's engine supports a pitcher who did this, however, so I don't know whether that should go on the glitch page.

Glad to have the help, lots of things need updating on dee-nee proper.  The forums kill my productivity on that end...

Although pitcher John Tudor of the Cardinals thre left-handed, he was a switch-hitter.  I believe he's a lefty batter on the game.

I picked up on Suttcliffe as well, only b/c he was a pretty good hitter for a pitcher, and thus I remembered him batting lefty.
