Title: dee-nee house games for 11/19/2004
Post by: Gantry on 11/19/04, 10:30:59 PM
A doozy:

Gantry (Ca) - 23, 15 HRs
Potsie (Dt) - 21, 12 HRs

Heck of a game.  Rob Wilfong (I am the worlds greatest RW player) starts the game off with a leadoff pitch dinger.  Potsie takes the lead in the middle innings until Gantry comes back with a 7-run  6th.   In the 9th, Gantry brings in Donnie Moore with a 3-run lead.  Typically a big mistake, but I roll the dice...

With two outs, Gantry throws an unexpected fastball to Pat Sheridan.  Potsie makes a bad swing and I catch the foul ball.  Except it was called foul.  The caught foul ball glitch!   Potsie say "that was an omen" and brings in Bergman who singles.  Two outs, two on, two run lead for Whitaker.  Grounder to first and I win.  Great game!

Straight pitch is fun.

Nothing worse than a shitty grounder in straight pitch.

Straight pitch...

Game two:

Gantry (SF) - 14, 13 HRs
Potsie (Mn) - 9, 7 HRs

Gantry with his usual Harry Spilman self, 2 straight dingers to start of the game, but he had to be subbed for a situational hitter (Viola was pitching), who promptly hit a dinger (what ever happened to Chris Speier?).  Had 12 runs and 12 HRs, but an errant triple by myself cost me.  Game three coming up...

Potsie wants "real teams" this time - aka I can't win unless I'm Detroit or Boston....

BOOYAH

Gantry (Dt) - 31, 21 HRs
Potsie (Bo) - 16, 13 HRs

Complete ass whoopin'  -  this is why I never pick Detroit, I can't be contained.   Too many homers to note, but the surly Potsie wants another game.  He pretty much quit in this one, but I'll give him Detroit to have a chance....

Last game:

Gantry (Ca) - 15
Potsie (Det) - 10

Was a pretty drunken game.  Potsie almost quit a good 4-5 times, but he kept going.  The final out of the game?  Deep flyball to the 3B side, clearly out of bounds.  But Potsie didn't know and has the guy on second touch the guy on first, and instant out!  About .5 seconds later the foul was called but it was too late.  I dominate!

I woke up just now with zero moisture in my mouth and an urgent need to pee.  Looking at the TV,  we apparently played another game which I won 15-6 (me Cali, Pots Dt) though the details are sketchy...

5 games of RBI, 27 Old Styles and a hangover.  God Bless America...

How do you know which team you were in that last game?

Also, I'd love to see a screen shot of a game where one team scored 31 runs...how long did that take?

Also, do we know of the RBI "clock" is accurate in game length?

Because I won (smiley) - also because first player won (I am first player 90% of the time and it was Cali.  I don't pick Detroit very often and never do if I'm on a roll (except against Lipitz)...

Yeah, I should have written down more stats.  I really crushed at the end, that's why it went 9 innings.  Probably scored 15 runs in the last 2 innings...

My good man, the FAQ tells all!

Gantry, I'll defer to your judgement because it's your board, but could you explain how spelling out (smiley) is somehow less egregious than using an actual smile face? ???
