ATLANTA - Julio Franco decided to remain with the Atlanta Braves, who agreed Thursday to a $1 million, one-year contract with the 46-year-old first baseman.
Franco, part of a platoon with rookie Adam LaRoche last season, hit .309, the highest average in major league history for a player at least 43 years old. Also valuable as a pinch-hitter, Franco hit six homers and drove in 57 runs.
57 RBI...that is not bad.
It's nice to see an RBIer still raking in the loot.
His OBP was .378 last year, not bad at all
Julio will be the last man standing...
