Title: Super RBI Baseball
Post by: Gantry on 12/14/04, 03:14:24 PM
Don't remember this one, has it been discussed before?  Apparently a SNES game, someone do the work and post a ROM.

Kind of hard to play from first quick run through (I'm at work) and definitely no RBI.  Might be better than RBI 2, though.

Snappy graphics, would post a pic but F12 isn't working in SNES for some reason.  Doesn't look terrible but a far cry from the original...

I tried this out once, I think - it played virtually nothing like RBI.  For starters, the fielding is zoomed in so that you can't see very much of the field when chasing a ball, so you have to rely on radar (like in Ken Griffey Baseball on the SNES).  For all the abuse RBI 2 and 3 take on this forum, their gameplay is fundamentally similar to the original, while Super RBI appeared to make some extreme changes.

Can't hold a candle to Super Batter Up. . . .which I just finished winning it all in that game.  Chicago Cubs 1992 WS champs over the Twins.

That game is rbi esque and has much much much less offense.

I also own Super RBI and coincidentally broke it out last week to refresh my memory.  It is a terrible game, nearly unplayable.  I would be happy to go into more detail if you want to dedicate a spot on the site for in-depth comments on all games relating to our beloved RBI.
