Title: Alan Trammell in RBI 3
Post by: nightwulf on 12/25/04, 04:35:21 PM
So this has been bugging me for a while. Looking at Alan Trammell's statistics in the ROM (on the '87 Tigers) I see the following information:

Name: 1D 39 28 34 34 2C ... 33 33 (Trammell)
Bats: 00 (Right)
Avg: E8 (.343)
HR: 1C (28)
Contact: 08
Power: 69 E8 (59497)
Speed: A1 (161)
Position: 03 (??? 00=catcher, 01=IF, 02=OF)
Switch: CC (??? 00=no, 01=yes)

So his name is obviously correct. I'm guessing he was a right-handed batter, and his average and homeruns match what baseball-reference.com lists.

What the fuck is going on with the rest of the information? 08 contact seems plausible, but may be incorrect. 59497 power is obviously not correct. 161 speed is too high; 7 players tie for the highest speed otherwise at 152, including Coleman and Henderson. The values for what position he plays and whether he's a switch hitter or not are also incorrect.

A quick googling found me 12 RBI Baseball 3 ROMs from different sources, and all 12 have the exact same information for Trammell. Apparently a bad ROM dump was made originally, and it's spread across the internet like cancer. Anyone own (or know someone who owns) hardware to dump NES cartridges? :-\
