Potsie is NSFW.
To be fair, the
" Striking out twice in straight pitch"
That was twice in a row... And the last two outs of the game...
It has been edited as such.
So many of these are so bad, it's hard to choose one.
i got so sad for potsie that i started crying halfway through the list and had to go back later to read it again, tissues in hand.
Were these feats accomplished in a drunken stupor?
Most of these feats were drunk, but a good chunk were not. The 23-0 and Ozzie Smith granny were not drunk...
In that case, I'll vote for Ozzie.
Ozzie seems to be the clear winner so far, but more votes are needed. The winner of this poll will be mentioned on Potsie Hall of Shame Page (http://dee-nee.com/rbi/potshame.shtml)
I was the beneficiary of two of Potsie's worst moments. The 23-0 romp and the 2 grand slams by Johnny Singlesack in the same inning were quite solid, but I'm not sure that Potsie could have done much to turn the tide. I was on fire that game and Kruk just came up in the right spots. He was sober and he did everything he could to slow me down, but just couldn't.
I did see the game where he struck out twice in a row to end the game. I don't think I was the beneficiary of this one, but I did witness it. After striking out once, you would figure that he would try harder to make contact on the first or second pitch. Nope. He struck out even worse the 2nd time. He was drunk, but so was everybody else. There's no excuse for being that atrocious.
Beneficiary, eh? I can't stop saying "eh"...
Ahhh, to go down in history with Potsie. I was the lucky one who grannied with Ozzerto to end a game...and I was also the one who struck Potsie out twice to end a game. Which of ALL his moments of shame was the worst? I voted earlier for the double strikeout, without a thought. A strikeout from time to time happens when you are drunk and you aren't paying attention. But to strikeout twice...and have it happen back to back...and have it to end the game? Come on.
Of course, hitting a granny with Ozzie is currently my best rbi moment (http://dee-nee.com/rbi/lipitz.shtml). Ok...that's my shameless plug for people to hit my dee-nee profile page. Dee-Nee!!
Bump this shit, I want at least 20 votes to be official and add to the postie hall of shame...
I'm sorry, but striking out 2 times in a row in straight pitch is horrible...I've never heard of a tougher feat.
i don't think oz gs is that bad. especially on straight pitch. he can't control that. question- in your straight pitch games, can you throw pitches in the dirt? if so, then striking out twice is not a big deal. if you can't do that, then it is a big deal.

I agree, the Ozzie slam is more a credit to the other player, but 23-0 in one inning and 2 K's in a row, those are awful.
i would like to think i would often score 23 runs in an inning on straight pitch but i am not sure because i never played it.

I've never played straight pitch either. After hearing more detail about it, I'd probably change my vote from Ozzie to consecutive strikeouts.
In our version of straight pitch, you cannot throw the UP-A slow pitch with two strikes...
And regarding Ozzie - not only was it a grand slam, but a walk-off bottom of the 9th grand slam. With the only guy in the game with no dingers. And you usually shouldn't be losing to Stl in straight pitch. It's a pretty big blow to the ego in my book....
