Title: DThon
Post by: vgp100 on 02/24/03, 12:30:33 PM
Dickie Thon is an underrated hitter. Not to mention he has a cool name. Dickie.
Who agrees?

He's better than most of the other guys on Houston.

Might as well, they all suck. That Walling guy is absolutely horseshit.

Thon is ok, but I think Phil Garner is the top sub on Houston.  He's no Jim Lindeman, but he has more power than most Astros...

Please.   Astros dominate.  That is all.  Thank you.

If I had to rank the Houston subs, I would probably go:

1)  Garner
2)  Lopes
3)  Thon
4)  Terry Puhl day

Garner is a clear #1 and the other three are interchangable.  Lopes has a hold on #2 for now because of his great speed and surprising power.  Does anyone else hit more dingers than you would expect with Lopes?

Anyone else care to rank the Astro subs?

My rankings are:

1) Lopes
2)Garner
3)Puhl
4)Thon

I think Lopes and Garner are even as far as power hitting and Lopes is a little faster so he gets the nod.  Same with Puhl and Thon, same power, so the faster Puhl is ranked higher.

Lopes does have some pop for me, but Garner IMHO has a bit more.  Then again, I don't play enough with Houston to get a consistent reading....
