Question:
When Matt Nokes comes to the plate, I....
Option 1: always let him hit
Option 2: always let him hit against lefties
Option 3: always let him hit against righties
Option 4: hate him and always pinch hit for him
Option 5: bring in Madlock before I even think twice
I think Matt Nokes is terrible in RBI. I always look to bring Madlock or Heath in hit clean up.
I got no beef with Fatty Matty, but he certainly is inconsistent. Always let him bat with the bases juiced though. He never gets subbed by me, I'd rather take Lemon out....
His decent power sometimes does go to waste, but I always leave him in too. I sub Herndon and sometimes Lemon to get another left-hander in the lineup.
I'm not a big fan of Nokes, but since you've gotta take out Herndon, I find it best to just leave him in.
I can't remember the last time I subbed anyone besides Herndon from Detroit, but I remember playing Smokedubad from the forums (a very good player) and being suprised when he subbed out Nokes for Heath.
Heath hits bombs
Heath is a stud. I don't care for Nokes much, but usually leave him in because I use Madlock in the 5 hole and Heath in the 7 hole....so that leaves Nokes at 4 bc he's better than Sheridan and Bergman...
wow your the first person I have ever heard that would sub out sweet lou! obviously you need someone in the 5th spot...but Nokes has too much potential to get ousted. I would rather sub out Lemon than Lou or Nokes any day. If there is ever a guy on first when Lemon is up..its pretty much an automatic double play.
I am shocked to see Gantry takes out Lemon. I think Lemon is a stud. I like Nokes also. Herndon comes out for Maddog. (who hit a salami against Bly No No last week for me)
Deep bench for pitchers.

i agree lemon hits into an assload of dp's but he seems to hit as many bombs as anyone on that team except d evans.
Nokes is not the weakest link in Detroit's team - not even close. Fatty's inconsistant, but so are most Detroit players. Herndon is the only starter to automatically sub out. I've always had good success with Cheddar Lemon, but your results may vary.
No-No, you're fucking nuts. Nokes' power is huge and he's a lefty. There's no way I ever take him out. Never have.
As for the rest of the lineup, Herndon always goes. Lemon is next if necessary but I leave the lineup untouched otherwise.
On a side note, I used to sub Madlock for Brookens all the time...until I came to dee nee.

my thoughts exactly...Lemon is quality.
I, too, hate Matt Nokes, but never take him out. He is the lone reason that I've yet to achieve my goal of hitting a home run from each slot in the batting order in one game against the computer. Even Sweet Lou came through for me!
I am a Chester fan, also. He comes up big for me for some reason
