Title: RBI Autographs
Post by: JoeDirt on 01/15/05, 01:12:12 PM
I came across my baseball player autographs from when I was a kid.

Here are the RBIers.  I do have add'l (some duplicates, some on baseballs), but these are the easily scanned ones.

What RBI autographs do you have?  Pix? ???

It'd be super cool if we had 'em all between us!

I've got a ball and an 8X10 as well, and a ball signed by the Wizard.

Did the wizard sign it simply "Ozzie?"  'cause I could swear I have/had a diamond king donruss card autographed by him that only had Ozzie in the autograph...

No, it's the whole sig.  I wouldn't doubt that he occasionally did that though, if he were signing a bunch at a time.

I finally got my Blank Morris book from my parents today, so I thought I'd share some sweet RBI autographs.  By the way, I called Willie Mcgee "Willie Cardinal" when I was really little.

I have to say that I think the Mattingly sig is a fake.

Mattingly has one of the neatest and proper signatures I've ever seen.  The one on joe's card is kinda sloppy.

It looks like the same dude autographed the Will Clark cards.

Did JoeDirt forge sigs?  Probably so.

I have Sandberg's Autograph and Dawson's Autograph.

I got the Mattingly autograph in spring training 1988 or some year like that...I'm 100% positive it's legit, as I handed him the f'ing card and he signed it.  I guess if it's sloppy it's because Jose Canseco was injecting steroids into his butt at the time...I mean, there were a shitload of people and he was trying to sign as many as possible.

WTF?  Can Nails or someone confirm this?

I know Canseco was probably injecting his butt, but I just can't believe Donny Baseball would be so sloppy.

Seriously though, Mattingly and Dawson have "pretty" handwriting.

I have Mike Bielecki autograph and the handwriting is very good as well.

Do you want me to confirm the butt injection or the integrity of the signature?

These sigs are impressive guys, even the fake ones.  Uh, just kidding, I'd be clueless to judge authenticity.

I brought my RBI cartridge to an Orioles/Braves interleague game last season hoping to get Pendleton, Franco, or Mazzilli to sign it, but had no such luck after getting there late and having no chance to meet the teams after the game... I will by god get an RBI'er to sign it this coming season though since I'll be going to a lot of Nationals games since they're, you know, not in the American League.
