Title: THE REAL RBI KING OF NEW YORK
Post by: Blyleven_No-No on 07/03/02, 09:44:22 AM
It's on Big Apple RBI Champ, I can't take your boastful login name anymore.  I am challenging you to a series for the official title of "Big Apple RBI Champ", and if you lose, you must change your login name to "The Big Apple's #1 contender"

A few ground rules I think you'll agree with:

We will play one series, best 2 out of 3, obviously curve pitch since that is a major part of the game.  Teams will be selected randomly, no All-Star squads, and even though it is not mandatory to drink, I will be hoisting some cold beers in celebration.

I live on 122nd street and Broadway, and would be more than willing to host the championship match, but I dont want you complaining about home field advantage, so I am willing to play away as well.

Oh, and one more thing, you better hope I don't randomly select Minnesota, cause Blyleven will tear through you and Timmy laudner is bound to go yard.

thats quite the challenge there bly...  hope big apple rbi champ is up for it...  who knows if he will respond  havent seen him on the forum lately...   how are you going to make sure the teams chosen are random?  i suggest you go to a hobby shop and pick up an 8-sided die and put the teams on it (leaving the allstars off of course).

I think we can trust Rbi players, not RBI Playa Haters, to cover their eyes as they randomly cycle through teams.

How long does this so called champ have to reply to my challenge??  He seems to be a bit intimidated...and he should be

Sorry for the late reply- I was at the All-Star debacle.

It's on.  I am ready.  I agree with your ground rules except choosing a team at random.  If one of us gets Boston and the other gets Houston, it's not fair.  We can just choose a mutually agreeable matchup and go from there.

Re: Blyleven... if I get Minnesota, Blyleven will strike you out 15 times, and then Frankie V will go for a dozen in the clincher...

Let me know what your schedule looks like.  I will host.

Where do you live "RBI King", I put that in quotes because I do not think that the title will last long.

Fortunately, I am a very patient hitter at the plate, more than willing to take some pitches against Viola, and then smack a home run through the wall.

I am unemployed so I'm often free during the day, but I drink by night, so let me know when you can play,  think I could lock down next Monday or Tuesday.

I'm sorry you were at the game, hopefully you chanted 'Let them Play', but at least there were some RBI stars in the house. 8)

Time Out here.  Is there another guy (GDavis) who lives in New York.  OK, so we now have 4 people who play? (GDavis, Blyleven No-No, me, and my friend)  Can everyone play Monday night?

Yeah I can play Monday night, but who the hell is GDavis???

Can he step up and play at our level?  He may be a questionable insertion.

I can also drink heavily that night, my roomate is an RBI baller too so that would make it 5 deep.  A little round robin tourney perhaps.

Hello Everybody,

i'm Blyleven_No-No's roommate, fellow RBI diehard, hitter of a home run by ozzie a few nights ago, and the guy who's ready to whip ass in any NY RBI tourney.  let's get it set up.

Monday's not good for me, I just moved to the suburbs so I usually only go down to the city on weekends.  Don't worry about me steppin up either cuz i've been playin since the 80s.  If ya want to get another mini tourney during a weekend i can see if my brother who lives in the upper east side, and my cousin who lives in suburbia near me, want in.  They are both superb players.

About the 32 man tourney...whats up with the no girls rule?

We are playing Monday night at 6:30- Upper East side location TBD.  I am confused about who's in.  please e-mail me at btr313jh@hotmail if you are going to attend.  I will e-mail you the location of game.

Also, I did sign up for the big tournament.

the no girls rule was brought about by stupid b*tches walking in front of the nintendo and messing up games in the 9th inning. also they complain and say that rbi baseball is gay.

thats why its rule #1

Kcets!

NYC Tourney Prediction:

One of the 2 Harlem roomates will be victorious tonite.  I pitched No-No some pb and fungoed him all over Tengen Field.  I will take straight-up bets over PenPal.

The Twins will sweep and Bert will Be-Ho-By-l-Eleven.

OUT!

The Harlem roommates will not be victorious.  My game is too strong.  We even gave them the first 2 picks, (Det and Bos).  I got Minn, so if Blyleven throws a no-no it will be for the Manhattan boy.

Results will be posted tomorrow.

Prediction... pain.

I feel no pain.

The only pain that will be felt is when game 1 of the series is aborted due to the slaughter rule.

You're going down big apple RBI champ!!!!
